I'm working on rewriting my homebrew fantasy campaign for D&D 5e. I'm looking for volunteers to playtest scenarios as they're ready to be played. I need 4-6 players each session who are willing to run through them multiple times with different class mixes to see what breaks and needs adjustments.
As of right now, the sessions are weekly on Saturdays from 5 pm to 8 pm, Eastern Time (Detroit, Michigan time).
Since we are not playing through the entire campaign these will be drop in games open to whoever is available, up to 6 players. First come, first seated.
The game will be run in Maps + Discord. Players will be asked to generate characters in D&D beyond for "Vanilla Team" and "Gonzo Team" starting at 3rd level. Vanilla team will have limited options using only the 2014 PHB. Gonzo team will have every option available in the Extended Rules and draw from either version of the PHB; you can go crazy with your build with practically no limitations. I will make pre-gen characters available for Vanilla team play as needed.
I may ask players to playtest new homebrew materials such as new classes, subclasses, species, and backgrounds. I will take all feedback seriously.
My goal is to eventually offer the material on DriveThruRPG or elsewhere and if that happens I will credit you as a playtester.
If you're interested, please reply to this thread. You must join my Discord server in order to play. We will be using a voice channel and a speech-to-text app will be running as needed to try to accommodate players with hearing disabilities.
I would not be opposed & I am in EST as well! Happy to have a look at whatever homebrew has been produced. The time slot is a little large for me as I work saturdays until 6pm rather often though. Do players need to attend for the entire time slot and, if need be, are we free to not attend for a session??
I'm still working on finding an optimal time slot for the playtest group so adjustments are certainly possible. I think we can handle late drop-ins or early drop-outs as long as I can maintain a minimum party of four. You are free to skip sessions. I'm not worried about continuity or characters popping in and out since I'm not necessarily going for a more immersive experience yet.
On the down side, I can't honestly balance encounters for 3-6 players if I don't have at least four. I will be cancelling sessions I can't fill enough seats for. Hence this thread.
I might run one shots unconnected to the campaign if I can only get 2-3 people to show up for a regular session. That will be decided at game time.
If you're still interested, I can send you an invite to my Discord server where you can get more details.
