Hello. I am very very new to D&D, and by new I mean that I have never played it before. However I am VERY interested in it. I have sorta been reading up on some things however most of my knowledge has come from watching a YouTube channel called "Critical Roll" and I have watched their 43 video playlist of some basics of D&D and I have been watching up to episode 4 of their second campaign. I do understand that what I have said is most likely not enough information on the game to just pick it up and play it, but one of my main goals is learning more of the game through a nice and casual environment and learn things as I go. I'm not super patient when it comes to reading so I'm thinking that I can do better in some other field of learning. Also, I do sorta have a character ready, but because there are a few things that require a DM's thoughts on I've kinda just left some things a bit blank. I think that's about it from me, I do hope that things go well here. Thank you for taking the time to read my reply.
I feel like I'd love to be a dm someday, but because I've never even played at all, I feel like I cant or at the very least shouldn't yet because I feel it would benefit me to have at least played before coming up with the stories and games myself. Where can I find these dm classes, and do you think that they would replace any significant playing experience if I have at least listened to dnd podcasts and things? Thanks

Watching other games take place will certainly help you recognize the flow of events while DMing. I would suggest picking up a premade adventure, reading the book prior to familiarize yourself, then running a group of friends through. You don't have to be perfect; It's about sharing the adventure.
Well I guess I should start with that I got into D&D when my friend introduced me to Critical Role about two years ago. I went to an art school and times were stressful for me and my friends so we started what would be my first campaign and I was immediately hooked and was eager to play more. Last year my college shut down and my friends all either moved away or already live way too far to constantly meet up so I haven't played since. We don't interact as much as we used to on Discord because they're busy and I've only recently built up the courage to try and find an online campaign with no luck. I don't really have any other friends in my life and my family's interests don't align with my own so I've sort of had this lonely feeling I guess? Any way I've been looking everywhere to find a campaign to join.
Hi! Im Very New TO D&D Online Ive Played A Couple Of Time In Reality But Im Mostly New I Would Love To Join A Campaign! And Id Like To Tag Along And Learn With Some Of You
in truth i have never played as a player, i became interested in the game with AD&D and continued to AD&D 2E, and ran a campaign with my wife and a couple friends. that was over 15 years ago and 3.5 was just beginning to come out i believe.
i work midnight shift with a very inactive boring job, gatehouse security and only see 1 or 2 people between 2 am and 6 am. i would like to either find a game that people in a similar situation or perhaps DM for some people that are available at that time. GMT-5 or a game that is in that time range.
my only problem with discord is that i have never used it before.

Hi! I'm very new to D&D Online I've played a couple of times in reality but I'm mostly new I would love to join a campaign! And id like to tag along and learn with some of you
I was wondering if anyone had suggestion's for the best way to find groups of players in EU region. I am from UK and am playing a campaign currently over discord with friends. I would be happy to play in person but online over discord is perfectly fine also. Basically I would like to have another campaign on the go to play and even have an attempt at DM'ing in a campaign. I need to learn the ropes for this so i was also curious if there was any ways of finding a group to trail a new DM like myself. I wouldn't want to DM with my friends yet as we have all been learning together and we have a good DM already. i would just like to have a crack at it with a separate group :) Thank you
hmm... I might be able to help on that, I will ask if you can join our discord if ya want to at least what level is your d&d character at? I hope I can help Dinlo!
I’m fairly new to this, I started playing back when it was just D&D, there weren’t any editions yet, so I don’t feel comfortable trying to run a campaign with fifth edition, as I’m still learning it myself as a player.
I’m in one game, but I honestly would like to find another, as our group has a lot of schedule conflict, and there’s sometimes a week or two between games.
I’m really enjoying this after almost a 30 year break from the game.
Hi i am new to this game and before you kick me out from my age i will tell you here i am about 12 1/2 so please dont let me join and than kick me out thanks i just wanted to play D&D

I am in the same boat. Played the white box in the 80's. Aside from that I have not played in 30+ years.
