I've got Master Subscription and Legendary Bundle. Content sharing has been turned on for this campaign. Feel free to join, create a character, and get a feel for DnD Beyond. No actual game going on here; just a testbed for the curious. After you've experienced it please remove yourself from the campaign to allow others to try it out as well. I will go in once a week and purge older characters as needed so others that want to play around with full unlocked content can give it a go.
Went a bit longer than a week, lol. Forgot to come back and clear out the users. Slots are open again for others interested in testing out character creation on my campaign. Please remember to delete your character once you have had a chance to test everything so others can get a try too.
Hey thanks for opening this up, i found allot of usefull info that i didnt found online, like how campaign books work and feel in D&DB
really considdering buying some books now as it makes campaigns allot easyer for me as DM :D like instand monster stat blocks without looking in in other books ect
Yep, no problem all! It really helps to get hands on and see how it works. That's what helped me make my decision to buy all-in in the first place. Cleared out the Campaign again for others interested in testing it out.
Right, mind if I join again? I just wanted to pore through Lost Mines of Phandelver a bit more, maybe see if I want to run it. Also, thanks for letting us random people have a look at all the stuff that's available. I know it's not the intent, but I think you may end up giving DnDB a lot of free marketing and lead to more sales due to people being able to try stuff by joining your game.
I know that there are couple things that I'm adding to my "buy" list now that I've actually been able to preview them.
Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't do some sort of preview phase or something to let DM's get a real feel for what it's like to have complete access to all the content at your fingertips like this. At the very least get some game streams done via a DM's perspective using the tools. That would be the number 1 way to really show people why they want this stuff. Perhaps once they finish Twitch integration?
Also, I just finished adding Tomb of Annihilation. Can't wait to get together with my group and get some testing on it.
I totally agree. I fully expected the beta to be longer and for them to allow people to preview at least a selection of some of the stuff so they could run real games with them. I kind of liken it to all the books I bought at the physical bookstore (mostly back in the 2e and 3e eras) from just being able to flip through them at the store. If I hadn't been able to browse the physical books, I might have never bought them. In all honesty, I probably wouldn't have bought them, because I wouldn't have been able to be excited by the stuff I saw in the pages.
Hearing about something or reading a summary is one thing, actually seeing it and experiencing it firsthand is another. Still have those hardcovers (and some soft) mostly D20 Modern unpacked, the rest of it's in storage.
Nice, yeah I never had any of the old books myself. Always friends or DMs that brought the books. Part of what made it easier for me to make the full plunge on here since I didn't already have an investment. Plus I figured it would be easier to bring everyone I play with to Dnd beyond if they could get past that concept of having to buy everything all over again. My current DM thought it was interesting but wasn't going to touch it because of not wanting to invest again. Now that I made the purchase for the group she loves it.
You know, if you go to the compendium section of DnDB and then to "adventures" you can see all the ones that InsertCoin has unlocked. Which is all of them so far. I'm currently browsing the ones I was strongly considering buying anyway. Namely, Curse of Strahd (still working on finding a way to properly run a Play By Post version of the free adventure "Death House") and Phandelver from the Starter Set (which I was really looking into as well).
Just a heads up. I'll probably leave this campaign available throughout the end of the month. A month and a half seems a reasonable time to give people to trial the content and decide if they want to invest more in the service like I did. Once I close my public campaign I'd be more than happy to work with one offs that want to hop in quickly and check things out, but I wouldn't feel comfortable just leaving this open ended permanently (plus I may end up using the 3x content sharing on other campaigns).
Made another refresh on the campaign slots. Going to be out of town so will leave this open till the 7th. At which point campaign will be deactivated. I can probably work with one offs after that if someone wants to test things out, but I won't leave the campaign open 24/7.
I'll be sure to check this out today after work. Been with my group for a year now and I do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to campaign design and running. Really hoping DnDB is my one stop shop for tools.
Still out of town, but just hopped on and refreshed the slots in the campaign. Feel free to go on and try. As a reminder, I will be turning off content sharing for this campaign once I return on the 7th/8th. I've currently got it on permanently using one of my three slots. Don't want to leave it open permanently since it provides the opportunity for someone to game the system and just use it for playing freely without ever buying content. Hence why I'll be turning it off. If you are a DM and want to test things out once I've disabled it then feel free to PM me and I can work out turning it on for short sessions to let you get a feel for the service.

ddb.ac/campaigns/join/285501113746590Edit: Campaign is no longer left permanently open. I explained my reasons here: http://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/looking-for-players-groups/6712-dnd-beyond-public-test-campaign-content-sharing-on?comment=20 . DMs can PM me directly and I can work with you directly in a private campaign should you want to peek behind the curtain before you decide to buy in. I highly recommend the service!

Thank you for your generosity! I was really curious how the adventures modules appeared on Dnd Beyond. This was a big help.

Idd I would love to have some sort of DM demo
This helps already allot that you share it with us tobad we can't test the DM side of things

Just an FYI I saw this thread and have joined...ok to still use and nose around?
Thank you so much for doing this!!! This has definitely helped me decide that I want to invest in this. :)
