I do not think that is at all fair and the reason that the campaign failed is because people like you came either unprepared without a mic and 2 people kept losing connection, I think it is unfair that you say I wasted your time when I spent hours planning and taking notes and yet all of it failed because of people like you. You wasted 4 hours of my time because I planned and waited for people to get their mics sorted but NO apparently only me and 1 player came prepared.
Simply not true, I've DMed for Vizek he's one of the better players I've DMed for in terms of preparation, also his mic sounded great.
I think the point he was making is you had over a week to prep for this, you had a week to make sure your players were ready for session 0 or 1 whatever it is you were doing. You had a week to confirm that they have the minimal things required to play.
1- A working mic. You should TALK with people on discord before giving them a spot at your table, make sure they know what's required especially since they are new players 2- An active Roster and a place for those people to go over their characters. This does a few things. It lets you gauge interested in your campaign by each individual player, it also lets you see who is and who is not responsive. 3- Be open about what your game/content is going to be about. You had 0 information about the game and the requirements needed to play it in your post. And that lack of information leads to what you had in your session.
I think it's great you're trying to DM, I really do. But you can't put the blame on the players when a first session fails so spectacularly. A large part of that falls on you for not doing the upfront leg work.
I would honestly take his suggestion to heart. Mark this thread closed and make a new one.
In the new one be more descriptive. This is an example of what my advertisement looks like when I'm looking for players. Maybe it will help you out.

Thank you very much for the advice, I was brand new to d and d beyond and didn’t even expect anyone to reply so it was a surprise. Also I had intended to play with school friends and wasn’t aware that the community was made almost entirely out of people over 20 and I expected that I would play with other teens and joke around. I am sorry.

By the way thanks and I have found a way to play less seriously with school friends.
