Hello Dina, Tiff, Isaaiah and Mary! Sorry that I am not replying to each of you individually, but I was away from my computer for a while and I didn't have a moment to check in here.
We have quite a few interested folks already, but I welcome anyone who wants to join the discord channel, and get to know one another. Then we can figure out the best fit for everyone and go from there.
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) I'm 27, recently finished university and finally have a stable schedule again after an epic amount of exams. I really like the collaborative element of D&D and am a rather big fan of all things fantasy, sci-fi and historical. I really like the idea of a campaign that is based around exploring some deeper themes and issues within the overall story in a welcoming group.
Experience level: Fairly experienced, played for about 6 years off and on, about half as a player and half as a DM
Availability (please include time zone): I'm in Mountain (GMT -07:00) mostly available evenings and weekends although I can swing the occasional afternoon if needed.
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?): 2-4 hours is great
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) Not terribly picky - whatever the DM is passionate about is usually a good bet
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc): I usually prefer a bit more of a serious game with stakes to the adventure, but I definitely don't mind having some arcs within the story that are more lighthearted, mysterious or horrifying etc.
A little about yourself: I'm 19, just looking to make new friends and play a long campaign.
Experience level: Experienced, been playing on and off for about 12-14 years but only recently got into 5e
Availability (please include time zone): Fridays and weekends are best for me, my timezone is EST
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?): Doesn't really matter, I've been in 12+ hour sessions and still had a great time.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?): I prefer homebrew
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc): Doesn't matter as long as it's fun
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) Big fan of DnD with some free time on my hands to get more involved!
Experience level: 1 year as DM, several years of campaign listening
Availability (please include time zone): anytime, CST
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?): flexible for anytime but Sundays
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?); anything works
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc); I'm a fan of mystery and horror, but love to throw in chaotic silliness.
I am an ancient 71 year old, Play all sorts of computer games I was a play tester for the old Gold Box AD&D computer games
I use to test games and played almost every AD&D to some ability, 5e is new to me But I know the basics and have play a little, as for time week nights (except Tuesday) starting between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM
I use to play all night long But For me I believe around 4 hours+ or - would be best
I use D&D Beyond so I just need to know which sources are being used and what the houses rule are
I just want an adventure with a friendly and a serious/interest enjoyable group
I do have to warn you we have quite a few interested players already, so I can't guarantee everyone will get to play, but I do welcome anyone who wants to join us. We'll see if we have enough interest for two games, or at least find the best group chemistry that we can!
A little about yourself: 26 years old! I'm a twin and I love to do lots of art and writing! Passionate about a lot of things and especially wanting to find a lovely group to play with! Also I am pansexual :)
Experience level: Beginner with some experience
Availability: CST - Mainly Tuesdays or Wednesdays but my hours for work may be changing to having Saturday and Sunday off! Mainly evenings for sessions!
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?) 4-6 marathon or a little less if so! Flexible!!
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) I dont mind! As long as we all have fun :)
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) All the things!!! Love where things go just from experiece!
A little about yourself: Longtime DnD player that is trying to come back from a looooong hiatus from the game. Haven't played in years but am getting strong urges to RP. I'm trans (mtf) and finding an inclusive group is super important for me so I'm glad that this exists.
Availability (please include time zone): Pretty much any day/time. I used to work in theater professionally, but since quarantine uh.....that isn't happening, anymore.
How long is your ideal D&D session? 2-24 hours. :P
Would you prefer a homebrew world or a pre-made adventure? No strong preference. I just want to RP again.
What overall tone would you prefer for our shared story? That is always up to the party dynamic. I don't have preferences because the parties relationships to one another almost always drive the tone.
A little about yourself: I'm 30 yo, I absolutely love D&D but have never played in the extended campaign before. During the Age of Covid I stumbled upon the Force Grey and Critical Role streams and it has really made me eager to start a weekly or bi-weekly adventure with a friendly and committed group!
Experience level: I have played a few one shots and one short four session campaign. All this was as a Half-orc barbarian which was a good intro but felt a little bland during roleplay and out of combat. I would really like to play as either a Lawful Evil Tiefling Paladin or a CN Wild Elf Ranger with a varied group of different classes!
Availability Located in Seattle so PST zone, very flexible on availability. Ideally would like to play on weekends or weekday evenings.
How long is your ideal D&D session? 2-4 hours but would be willing to go longer on weekends if the story calls for it.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? I would really like to start with a Forgotten Realms pre-made just from a lore point of view. I have been reading the novels since I was a kid and it would be a lot of fun to immerse myself in a familiar fantasy setting while developing a character of my own!
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? Epic fantasy with elements of horror or mystery would be great, I don't take things too seriously though and am definitely willing to goof around based on the group mood.
Name and pronouns:Tom. Tommy, Thomas(dont care which) Pronouns being he A little about yourself: I'm 22M, been wanting to get into DnD for a couple of years now, just never took the plunge until now. I'm really big on any kind of RP, world building, anything like that Experience level: I was in another server for a short time, managed to play one game before the server kinda fell apart. Other than that one game, I've never played tabletop in my life Availability (please include time zone):EST Available anytime, on any day for the forseeable future How long is your ideal D&D session? Preferably a longer session, but I'm perfectly fine with short if that's what other people want Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) I'm good with either, I don't know much, if anything, about official DnD worlds, but I'm happy to jump into any world What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) Absolutely anything from dark and serious to whimsical and funny
Name and pronouns: Jaytwan (Jay for short) He/Him/Man
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) Working man and 2 young kids. Looking to get into this game for a long time and finally making the leap. Pretty laid back. Can be perceived as apathetic don't let that get to you. Can be candid not a big over sharing or expansive person on myself beyond what is usually needed.
Experience level: Never played. Own and read players hand book, still reading the DM guide, and own the monster guide. I have made a character before.
Availability (please include time zone): Nights. I get out of work at 8pm EST but it can be later. Usually not available until 9:30PM EST. off days now are weekends but about to have a shift change still nights but different off days.
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?). shorter sessions since I only have time at night. Active father. I have my kids every day, so when they sleep is the time to start anything for me.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?). I have never played so i can't say i have a preference.
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc). I don't think horror will fit the character I want/plan to play. Open to just about anything else.
I am very sorry I didn't get a chance to close this thread sooner, but I wasn't home until recently. Unfortunately we have over 20 people on our Discord server and I just can't offer playing time to that many people, let alone even more! I'm afraid I won't be accepting any more potential players for the time being but, if there are more openings in the future I hope you will consider joining us! I am floored by the amount of interest my little post gathered, and very grateful that there was so much interest for an inclusive game.
We were planning a game for this afternoon, and we are short a player or two! If you want to join us for a one-shot adventure (and possibly more) please hop on our Discord:
A little about yourself: I am not the best at this, but 31, and looking for a group to build a story we will all remember affectionately.
Experience level:
roughly 2-3 years , across 4-5 campaigns
Availability (please include time zone):
Evenings most days except friday (MST)
How long is your ideal D&D session?
i find that 3-4 hours is typically the minimal amount of time needed to get into and play a decent session, Though i am not against marathons of 12 hours +
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure?
As someone who is working on their own world, i always enjoy homebrew over adventure modules. That being said the group is what makes the game great not homebrew/premade?
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story?
I am typically a more serious player, however i do enjoy a good inside joke with the group. I would not mind a horror or Whimsical setting.
I typically enjoy a story with wide rails so to speak. Playing in games where there are 80 side quests, at once, which dont particularly progress the story in a meaningful way is usually frustrating to me as a player.
Hi there, in case there are two games or an opening comes up, thought I'd thrown my bit in...
Name and pronouns: James - He/Him
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) Am a "mature" gamer (read, 50 this year), cosplayer and lover of fantasy and scifi. Have played a fair amount of tabletop, but have been out of things for a bit, and would love to meet some interesting people and have fun stretching my imagination!
Experience level: 3.5 was my last major experience, except for some one offs with friends who played 5ed
Availability (please include time zone): EST, and pretty much after 7pm except for Sunday nights, which would be 8pm.
How long is your ideal D&D session? I have a lot of time on my hands, so I can go a couple hours to marathons into the wee hours, as long as it's fun and things move.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?). Either is okay, as long as the homebrewed world has rules that make sense for that world. Have played with DMs who were a bit arbitrary with their homebrew rules, not much fun for players!
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc). I'm a sucker for high fantasy, and really love role playing my characters, so levity is good, to break up the serious, but silly isn't my strong suit.
Thanks, and love to join the Discord server too, although the link didn't work for me today...
Hi, might be a little too late here, but why not try!!
Name and pronouns: Amanda (they/them)
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) : 23 y/o law student who has never played d&d before (though I have watched a lot of CR & other d&d shows and have played tabletop games before and am also a fast learner!!) i'm very queer & autistic, so it's a little hard to find a group that i feel safe & comfy enough playing with. i've had a LOT of time to come up with a pretty dope ass character though (not that i wouldn't be flexible with character creation based on the world & narrative).
Experience level: (as noted above) brand new. which means no matter what you'll be the best dm i've ever had!
Availability (please include time zone): law school is a bit of a time suck but i would be free any evening other than mondays, wednesdays, and thursdays, or any time on weekends, and could definitely set aside one evening a week.
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?): no idea! I would guess around 2-3 hours.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?): it's all new to me, so i would be excited to play anything!
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc): i really like what you said about having laughs while still exploring serious issues. the main things i love about dnd are the world building & exploration, but also the empathy & personal connection it can build in the players. but overall i'm very flexible!
Game: D&D Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face Experience: Played years ago. Some exp. A wee bit rusty. Location/Timezone: Eastcoast. Availability: I work for myself so I am available. Preferred role: Player Game style: Roleplayer. I love to play character. I want to have a roup that has fun but still takes it seriously.
Little about myself: 18 year old that’s been in love with DND for about 2 year’s now, and looking to join a new group and environment
Experience level: Not played in many campaigns, but very well versed in role play, and I know the rules and spells almost by heart if anyone needs a quick reference.
Availability (please include time zone): Most days and times except Saturday and Monday/ US PST
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?): Honestly, any time works for me right now.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?): I’ve never actually played an official adventure, but I’m definitely open to trying!
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc.): I love role playing and getting to know other well thought out characters and NPC’s. I’m pretty adaptable, so long as it’s fun. That’s most important rule after all, right?
Pronouns: Tim (He/Him) but in MMO Games most know me as Pyewicket ( Pye for short)
Game: Fantasy is fav, but really any.
Group preferred: Online
Experience: None (will be asking a lot and suggestions on vids to watch to learn more great)
Location/Timezone: Central Standard Time .
Availability: Evenings and weekends. Days off are Mon & Tues after 3pm best (11am to 1pm Possible) Wed - Sat After 7:30pm. Sun after 6:30pm
Preferred role: Healer , Mage or Tamer are preferred but open to trying anything
Game style: Open to anything, Never played always wanted too. Main thing is having a good time. Starting off more relaxed then growing into what ever whether it be whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, all is good
How long is your ideal D&D session? 2-4 hrs best 6 is ok but depends on starting time.
