Hello, I often go by PUN, I am 23, I use the He/Him pronouns. I live in Texas with my boyfriend and two cats. I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about half my life. I have been a Dungeon Master for just over 5 years. I started out in 3.5 and quickly moved to 5e where I picked up DMing for my small group of friends. It has been one of my biggest passions and greatest joys being able to make an amazing story with those sitting across the table or, in more recent times, screen.
My GMing style is a bit more laid back than most I have experienced in my day. I am hate the feeling of the DM being against or "beating" the players. My goal is to build a story with and around the player in my game. If you are not having fun then I am not having fun.
I love a good roleplay heavy session. I have a couple of voice that I can do but don't make fun of me for slipping in and out of them! I am a super laid back and a "will of the players" type GM. The "rule of cool" is something I live by I may allow something to happen just because I deem it cool. I sometimes twist or bend the rules to make a game more fun for both the players and myself. I mostly run a homebrew game but love running more sandbox modules such as Out of the Abyss.
About the Game.
The main game I run is the homebrew world of Statera. A land torn apart by the balance it seeks, literally. Humans have been purged off the face of the plane as recompense for the killing of the creation Goddess Io, ages ago. As such human will not be a selectable race.
All races and classes in official Wizards of the Coast published book are free game to use. I am even open to allowing UA/Homebrew as long as it has been submitted and approved by me before session 1 begins.
We will be using roll20 for maps and combats and discord for voice chat, dice rolling, and most other things. Though I am looking to move to FoundryVTT.
Players will be starting at level 1 with an expectation of completing the campaign at level 20, after some time of course.
Rolling the characters stats will be allowed once in the discord sever for the game.
What to expect.
Payment for games is as follows: $15 for one session. Payment will be required before the session begins or you will not be allowed to join. Payments go into a session bank to allow players to pay for multiple sessions in advance. Paying $150 will get you ten sessions in your bank. Once it has reached 0 you will not be able to play until the bank has sessions in it.
Once we get everyone into the game, we will spend the week before session 1, introducing ourselves, creating characters, and going over general lore in the discord. This is our session zero. You do not pay for this intro into the world and character creation. We will work together to build backstories that tie into the world. This allows for more immersion into the story. We will discuss what type of game we are all wanting to play, where and how we wish to start, and if any of our character have connected backstories. With this completed we can go into the first session with a running jump. Right now I am looking to fill the last slot in a game ran on Sunday nights, starting at 6cst and running until 10cst. I already have 4 players and we will get started when we have 6.
Session 0 (the week before the first session) and the first actual session are both free. No need to have sessions in the bank for these as we get to know each other and make sure everyone fits.
Parting words
I understand that paying money to play this game can sometimes be off putting. But when you consider the man hours I put into creating an immersive campaign story for you to play, DnDbeyond content, as well as other purchases I make to run a great campaign, it is almost nothing to pay for the numerous hours of enjoyment that you will receive in return. It not only assures my level of commitment but the other players as well. If you are concerned at all about my quality as a Dungeon Master I have 10 players currently paying for my games, and dozens more who would vouch for my ability.
I do prefer my players to be 18+, this allows for more mature topics to be discussed, but other than that all are welcome to apply. I can work with any skill level from the just watched CritRole and want to play to the old timers playing since before I was born. Something I have to add is, be open to constructive criticism, old players and new alike, we are playing a collaborative storytelling game together. If someone has an issue with something that happened we should be able to settle it as adults. If that is not something you think you can do I ask that you please find another game. If you can, then I will welcome you with open arms into the world of Statera.
