Amelia's about to volunteer to go in first--she's not afraid of rats, even relatively giant ones--when there's more earthquakes, and someone shows up. "We should probably investigate that before we go in," she remarks, and then starts heading in that direction before anyone can respond.
'She's an impulsive one, isn't she?' Mohdrak looked on as the half-elf named Amelia took off. The others soon followed suit so Mohdrak shrugged and ran after them.
Durnik crouched down and muttering to himself about “Stupid rat… stole my axe”is completely oblivious to the new arrival as he looks down into the tunnel, but will get up and follow as he notices everyone else leaving. He’ll ask ”Wait why are we leaving? We need to get that rat.”
'We"ll get your axe.' The minotaur said to the dwarf. 'But with any luck, that was Erastus accidently shrinking himself and we can figure out a way to return to normal size. Let's go.'

*Zap!*
And suddenly he's gone.
What has just happened? It seems that artifact of Hell malfunctioned again, and teleported Jack by mistake. That goddamned gnome!
"I hope at least I've been sent to where the other people have... I don't want to be alone in the middle of nowhere."
Jack takes a look around, assessing the situation. He checks in what kind of terrain he is, whether there are some hostile creatures around and how many physical rules apply that he's familiar with.
(Perception: 18)
During his scrutiny, he somehow notices some movement to the east. Not sure if that is good or bad, he decides to carefully approach them.
"If they're friendly, that's fine. If they're not, well, them I'm almost dead anyway..."

"Losing to a master is nothing to be ashamed of, unless you learn nothing from the experience."
Seeing the new arrival approaching, Cerlinde calls out “Hello there, welcome to the world of the small. I am Cerlinde. Do you happen to know how to get big again?”
Jack, discovering himself in a strange land, decides to follow a trail of blood eastward, and soon sees a group of humanoids up ahead, whom he approaches cautiously.
Cerlinde, Mohdrak, Zithers, Durnik and Amelia, walking towards the source of the light and wind in the west, discover a solitary human figure looking somewhat disoriented drawing near.
Both sides signal their lack of hostility, and share their stories of the mad gnome and his machine. Apparently, after the disappearance of the group, Erastus went searching for help to discover where he had teleported them to, found Jack and brought him back to the scene of the disaster, and inadvertently shrunk him as well. (anyone wishing to RP this interaction feel free, but I wanted to forge ahead).
Someone recalls the pedestal (now an enormous column) being roughly in the center of the 50' by 30' room, which is now a 3000 x 1800 room. The knothole is approximately 200 feet east of the column, and you estimate the eastern edge of the room, where the upward stairs (each now approximately 36 feet in height) would lead you to the ground level of Erastus' home, is around 1300 more feet to the east. Chairs and tables tower above you, and you recall shelves containing fantastical devices located somewhere above that.
So, a few of the options available to you are: climbing furniture, further exploring the landscape of the main room, checking out the tunnel beneath the knothole, or whatever else you come up with. The "earthquakes" and "thunder" from earlier you surmise to be the hurried footsteps and voices of normal-sized people. All is quiet for the moment.... or is it?
Something large seems to be approaching from the south. If anyone knew what a locomotive engine was, which you obviously don't, it would seem to be of a similar size and shape, and making similar mechanical-sounding noises.
Cerlinde says… “well- glad that crazy gnome is aware something is up with his machine. Welcome to our group. We were just going to go into a rathole to retrieve an axe, and then we need to decide what to do. And what is that thing?”
(My thoughts, well Cerlinde’s- would be maybe try to climb the pillar to get back to the machine To adjust it somehow. Or find a way to alert the gnome to their presence. But first getting the axe is a good idea)
'Guys, does anyone remember all the things that got shrunk down?'Mohdrak looked worriedly to the south and slid on his shield to be on the safe side.
"Well, no my memory isn't the greatest all I remember is a frog but if it was shrunken down with us wouldn't it be equally as harmless to us as if we were both big? If it's that big I'd say it was a smaller clockwork (clockwork judging by the mechanical noises) that my fellow gnome made that wasn't ever shrunken down?"
As the strange thing gets closer Zithers quits his stress-ramble and takes a few steps behind the one with a shield (unless this thing is susceptible to fire none of his spells would be of any use)
Cerlinde says… “well- glad that crazy gnome is aware something is up with his machine. Welcome to our group. We were just going to go into a rathole to retrieve an axe, and then we need to decide what to do. And what is that thing?”
"You know what? The rathole seems like a great idea right now because I don't think this 'thing' can follow us through and while we don't know what it is, I'd rather not stick around to find out" Zithers says with a bit of a voice crack "and if we do stop to see what it is, lets do so from a safe distance, where we can plan our next moves without the danger of trampling and who knows what else from this clanking and whirring silhouette of spooky coming at us from the south"
after a few moments of awkward silence zithers realizes he misses something important and adds "and also hello there, newcomer, you can call me Zithers, and I don't suppose the gnome said anything about a reverse switch on the machine when bringing you over to help? That may be important"
All of your eyes are drawn southward to the large, shoebox-shaped somethingapproaching. The front end swerves back and forth, somewhat like a dog following a scent along the ground. Around 200 feet to the south of you, it suddenly straightens out and points directly at the party, and seems to pick up speed....
Cerlinde:
Your keen elvish eyesight makes out a box approximately 20 feet high, 15 feet wide, and 30 feet long. Along one long side is printed in neat letters, "Unibrow's Amazing Autosweeper and Rat Eliminator". You also notice what appear to be circular spinning brushes like wagon wheels near the front of the construct, and spinning, chopping blades behind those. There is an 8' by 8' opening on the front face which leads directly into the interior where the brushes and choppers presumably fulfill their purposes on whatever passes through.
“It’s another invention of that gnome! A rat eliminator! Let’s run to the hole, I think it’s too big to fit in there..” Cerlinde cries, and dashes back towards the rat hole.
As Zithers sprints after Cerlinde, he tries to say something about guessing correctly but is too out of breath to say anything really comprehensible, and ends up just running for the rathole.
After greeting the rest of the newfound companions, Jack shares their worries about the strange device approaching. He's always used his bulk as an advantage in combat, and now that he's reduced to the size of a baby mouse he finds himself very vulnerable. When Cerlinde suggests running, he follows, not knowing where to but hoping she does.
"Did you see any rats around here?" he asks while trying to keep the pace.

Between fighting a metal cast murder box on wheels and an overgrown rat, Mohdrak could see the appeal of the latter. He holstered his shield and morningstar and took off sprinting after the others bringing up the rear.
The five (six with Durnik) of you run toward the hole in the wooden floor and drop down into the tunnel below. This passageway appears to have been clawed out of the packed earth under the building and runs roughly north-south, extending into the darkness in either direction. Shortly after the final member of your party scrambles down into the tunnel, the light overhead is blocked out, and loud grinding noises come from above. You presume it is the Eliminator. It seems to have parked itself in that position, at least for the moment, although it does not appear to be able to reach down to harm you.
Assuming the first people into the hole spread out in either direction, here is the order I have you in, from north to south: Cerlinde, Jack, Durnik, Mohdrak, Amelia, Zithers. You may, with some awkward shimmying, rearrange yourselves as you wish. Please let me know if you are using light sources or darkvision, and what you wish to do next.
Cerlinde has dark vision, she looks in the direction the injured rat went. “Maybe Mohdrak should lead us..” she says with trepidation. She will follow him, hoping to finish the rat and help retrieve that axe..
You believe the rat went southward, so your party starts to move in that direction. The tunnel starts to curve westward, and seems to widen or open up ahead. Everyone who has darkvision or a light source please roll Perception.
