DM's note: After Thurodim's turn, we'll go one more round then Faera (and Illithir?) will join the initiative. This current round is while they(?) are leaving the inn, next round while they are making their way across the courtyard.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the gluttonous two-headed troll tears into his new friend Ghurr, Thurodim roars furiously and swings Skullcleaver in another wide arc, swinging into one of the troll's heads, then returning the swing for a reverse strike at the other head to finish the abomination.
Action: Attack twice with Skullcleaver, raging, attacking recklessly and -5 to attack and +10 to damage, all included in rolls.

(Sorry, first time playing a half-orc barbarian, lots of synergies here, Thurodim gets another 10 damage due to the Savage Attacks feature and another attack as a bonus action due to the crit and the Great Weapon Mastery feat. Bonus Action: Skullcleaver: 24 Slashing: 21 )
He was about to answer Verity when Faera warned him about some sort of commotion outside. The first thing Ilithir thought about was the possibility that Diggory was attacked. From this notion came another idea. Could it be that whatever targeted the human was the thing behind the attacks on Soft Rest? The number of victims, unlikely to reach the twenty as it was, could still be considered fairly large for the time since the start of the assaults. Maybe it was more than a beast. Maybe their unlikely caravan was found by one of them.
Whatever the case, the elf raised from his seat, putting the shield on his arm, taking out his arcane focus and starting to run. He looked to the longsword on his belt. No sign coming from it. No trap, no surprise attack. An open confrontation, he concluded taking into consideration the urgency on the wizard’s voice. That meant they first move was likely to be an offensive.
“Faera, remember what I said about the grey smoke?” Ilithir asked drawing upon his pact magic, readying to cast Silent Image in front of him as her fellow spellcaster. “I’m preparing to deploy it so we can attack from behind it, obscured to the eyes of an enemy.”
At least a common enemy. Depending on what they were about to fight the illusion would be of little effect.
Notes: On the two turns where Ilithir and Faera are moving towards the field of battle I would like to use one action to have Ilithir equip his shield and another action to ready the Silent Image spell (no spell slot cost thanks to the Misty Visions Eldritch Evocation) to be put around him and Faera, obscuring them both to anyone that doesn't see through the Illusion. The trigger for the cast of the spell would be seeing an enemy fighting against his companions (Thurodim, Mala and Ghurr).
After the troll rips and tears chunks out of him, Thurodim looks up with fire in his eyes. He raises his axe and on the first upswing cleaves straight through the troll's leg just above the knee. It flops to the ground where it wobbles gently. One more swing brings it down to its remaining knee where it looses balance and falls to the floor. One final strike ends deep in its chest, and is removed with a sickly sucking noise.
The troll lies still in the straw and dirt of the stable.
(Sorry to make you rewrite, Mala, but this would have been before your turn. It would have been a great turn though!)
All covered in blood from the fallen troll and the deep gashes it inflicted on the half-orc, Thurodim keeps growling, raising Skullcleaver again, should the two-headed monster still have some life in it.
As you search the stalls you mostly find scared, skittish horses, stabled singly or in pairs, champing and squealing in their displeasure. However in one corner of the stall just to the left of the front doors, you find Diggory, crouched on the ground with his hands over his ears, eyes screwed shut.
Just as you spot him, you all hear a groan from the troll as it rises to it's one foot... and the severed leg begins wriggling and squirming like a worm, moving back towards the troll.
The troll bellows "No kill Brek! Aaagh!". It turns towards the rear wall of the stable, claws ready to tear it down and escape, but hopping on its one leg it jumps into the slick pool of blood where the dead horse lies, and its one good foot goes flying out from under it - it crashes to the ground and groans. Its severed leg hops over to its prone body and waits patiently.
(Thurodim's turn, then Faera and Illithir will arrive and I'll update the initiative order.)

Watching with bewildered eyes as Brek the horse slayer quickly pull himself together, Thurodim roars and swings Skullcleaver down over it's ugly head, following up with another powerful swing of his might axe.
Action: Attack twice with Skullcleaver, raging, attacking recklessly and -5 to attack and +10 to damage, all included in rolls.
As the troll lies groaning on the floor, Thurodim's axe swings and severs the one good leg from the body, before a second strike ends deep in its stomach. It lets out a little gasp of air, then lies still again. Neither of the severed legs move.
It is at this point that Faera and Illithir appear in the doorway. Illithir, the trigger for your readied Silent Image spell is not met, as the beast has clearly been felled and no one is is active combat with it.
Initiative: I rolled a 21 for Faera and a 4 for Illithir, so it is now Mala's turn again, then Ghurr, then Faera, but don't feel you have to wait to post.
(I'll just ignore Mala's previous turn she never took - it shouldn't matter.)
Seeing the troll felled then reform, Mala steps back a bit. "In the stories I recall of trolls, all the severed limbs just keep coming after you. So I suggest we stop slicing off pieces!"
She glances first to her two large companions, then back to the newly arriving ones. "Anyone know how to actually kill this thing? Drive something through its heart?"

Faera takes in the scene before her and is a bit stunned. Mala yelling towards Illithir and herself break her out of it and as she gets closer she realizes what it is. "Fire!! We need to burn this creature to ashes so it won't come back." She turns to Mala a bit puzzled, "Have you not heard the stories?"
Then realizing she should act more than discuss, she hurls a fire bolt towards the main part of the body since all parts are still at the moment.
(I'm not sure the rules of hitting a creature that is unconscious? Is it an automatic crit? I'm just going to roll with advantage and DM can take it from there)
Thurodim stops hacking at the chopped up two-headed troll, his fustration clearly growing, listening to Mala and Faera. He didn't know trollls needed to be burned but he didn't doubt that Faera knew what she was talking about. He still stands ready with Skullcleaver raised as it seemed the the troll could be at least temporarily taken down with brute force.
Ghurr watches a moment as Thurodim eases up on his hacking and Faera starts burning the remains of the troll.
"Maybe take outside?" Ghurr says, gesturing at the stable walls and feed and any hay laying around for the horses. He also looks at the dead troll with wide eyes. "That really grow back?"
He then goes back to the stall that Diggory was hiding in.
"All gone now, Diggory. Come out." Ghurr says. "Where big two head grow back troll come from?"

Mala takes another step back after Faera's fire bolt. "Is that it? Is that enough to take care of him?" She looks around the stable warily, wondering if the fire might spread. And maybe keeping an eye out for anything that might help put out a fire. (source of water, buckets, and similar - Perception: 18)

Ghurr nods at the fallen troll. He then quickly moves about the stables looking into each darkened stall for sign of more trolls and for Diggory.
”Is Thurodim okay? Need healing?” Ghurr asks over his shoulder as he searches the stalls.
