Jayson vigorously shakes Gor’s hand, as much as anything out of a sense of self-preservation.
”Well met, Gor! I am Jayson Warmlight, poet and minstrel. At your service!”
He nods to the half-orc.
”Just so there is no confusion; we travel to save and protect the midwife. No sledging. She is our client. No midwife, no commission. That would be bad.”
Jayson also looks to their other companion.
”Orson, I apologize that I sang before making your acquaintance. A scout would benefit our company tremendously, I’ve no doubt. I think we should expeditiously make ready to get on the road.”
/Jayson hopes Biezdar can clarify things further for his old friend, “the Gouger”./
Biezdar listens Jayson's serene tune and feels like warm settles in his heart. That is not something he would find on his quest here. Nice surprise, there is slight smile of joy on his lips when listening to the song. When Quin (although he introduced as Orson, but i will narrate about him as quin same as author did) suggest to work our away trough all the quests at once Biezdar answers.
- Sure not a bad idea, but if we do that, then Midwife would be the last to visit just before we head back here. That way we can escort her here instead of dragging her along other places.
When talking with Gor the Gouger, Biezdar first reflex is to counter that handshake/tugging/hugging but quickly decides to let it go and even enjoyed that rough and intimate greeting. Listening to what Gor has to say, Biezdar realizes that they are not those two boys that they once were, Gor changed a lot, and he knows he himself did too. The feelings did not changed thou. Gor still was energetic and loud. Biezdar liked to give him more space, and would often listen more than he talked.
- I am very content with our meeting as well, even more now knowing we would join forces. I would be interested in knowing more about Lodis that you talk so hospitably about. Looking forward for fighting with you side by side, but you got me lost on the dying part friend. That is not my destination, and if it is yours, i will try yo help you to make the journey last as long as possible for you to gather more splendor on the way to your offering for Lodis.
Biezdar is not really sure if Gor misunderstood the role of midwife or is he just teasing, but decides to not clarify. Biezdar believes that Gor even when confused now, would make the right assessment of the situation on site.
/If we are going to leave today (which i am ok with) Biezdar would speak to Thomas/
- Thomas good lad, please go to Donna, and Clayton. Inform them of current situation and fetch me my things. We will meet here in a bit as i would need to go around and buy some equipment that might be helpful in our doings.
After that Biezdar would be ready to leave, and is quite passive about where party wants to go first, but will not start with midwife and then go to other places with her, so either she is lats or we visit her first, get her here and then do other places. That would be his say in this.

You certainly get a reaction. Lots of folk come and listen, and a large round of applause happens afterwards. You aren't sure if they are applauding your song or the fact you are all going out or not.
Quin/Orson accepts Gor's handshake while giving out "Orson" as his introduction. He waves a hand of acquittal at Jayson absolving him of any social misstep.
"I agree we should be on our way. If the midwife is to be last then let's go to the dwarves first. I travel lite so I'm ready to move out when everyone is ready. I follow your lead Biezdar."
Quin/Orson hefts his pack over his shoulder and readies himself to follow Biezdar to Barthens.
Every so often Quin will stoop down and pick up a couple of stones that are about marble or ball bearing sized and add them to a pouch on his belt. He also has a couple of round smooth rocks that he rotates around in his hand making them click softly.
”I fully concur with Orson. Dwarves, midwife, and then back here. If, in the meantime, no one else steps up to take the third posted job, we’re here long enough to collect our reward, re-supply, maybe grab a hot meal, then back on the road.”
/Jayson re-secures his yarting, does a quick gear check, then awaits the party’s departure./
Kosef momentarily puts down his pipe to adjust his pack and armour. Both are well worn but neither seem to fit him properly. “Well it seems we have a plan.” He smiles to himself and follows the other’s lead, puffing on his pipe once again. Milil has surely blessed him with a worthy party this time. He hopes they fare better than his last adventuring companions. “If we complete this mission, we’ll have to come up with a name for ourselves, people will want to sing our praises in the street.”
Biezdar meets up with Thomas after visitin Barthen's Provisions. "- Thank you very much kind man, i will surely be back for more!" - He says leaving with what he bought. -Boy please attach that bedroll to my backpack. - he commands Thomas and continues to speak to him while the boy is on the task: "- I won't be around for a while, most important thing for you here is to practice your fencing. Donna and Clayton will take care of te rest. If you would have some free time, try to ask around what people know about that dragon. Also what troubles them and where we could be of assistance. If it is a task you could take upon yourself then please do. Nothing dangerous, just helping. I want people to feel that they are not left alone here with that dragon, but taking care of that won't be easy, so just in the meantime be useful for them." - Thomas is astonished by that speech and takes the courage to ask:"Am i to serve common folk, sire?" "Knights duty is to protect those who can not protect themselves. Buy you are no knight yet, and there is no use of dead knight. Do what you can and treat is as training. If you would have a chance to help catch a runaway hog, i encourage you to do so. You might think it is unworthy task for a noble, but it is also not an easy task that might teach you a lot. So figure that for yourself whether you strive for quality or just for prestige."- Biezdar schools Thomas and then turns to his companions.
- All right then, let's go! Gor, shall we lead on the front? Kosef will you consult the map on the road?
Kosef nods in agreement. “Sounds like a sound idea. The only thing I may suggest is that Orsen travels a little while ahead as scout.” He pulls out the map and consults it.
"Well met minstrel! I, too, am a bit of a musician! I shall show you soon, oah! Maybe we can make much music! Oh...but...what?" He listens to concerns about sledging the midwife and looks genuinely perplexed. "We're not...sledging...the midwife? Is she not in need of release? Hm. Perhaps Gor has not read this posting correctly."
He rubs his chin while they walk, trying to figure out what it was a midwife would need someone like him for. He was, to be sure, no midwife, and knew very little of what they did. Only that, usually, when they showed up, some screaming brat was soon to follow.
"Are you sure she doesn't need sledged?" He asks Jayson. Just, you know, to be sure.
When Biezdar says that 'dying is not his destination', the Half-Orc is suddenly aghast. He reaches out and lays one hand on Biezdar's shoulder.
"Ohh, strong shoulders Brother Biezdar! Oah!" He says, offering up a compliment before following up with weird philosophy. "We are all destined to die. It is our fate! Born, in fact, to die! And what better way to die than in glorious tribute to Lodis? But to know Lodis? Gor shall teach Biezdar, and all company!, of Lodis in our travels, hm? Oh, maybe if you are all lucky you shall see me offer myself up in tribute to Lodis, so you can see the glory!"
He gets really revved up about this, like Biezdar's totally natural concerns are a foreign concept to him. He nods as the plan is laid and Kosef states as much. When Biezdar goads Gor to the front, he lights up even brighter.
"Gor is always ready to be the example! Let us go to Sledge these Dwarves!"
Kosef, you assume based on the distance that travelling at a normal pace will get you there in about 5 hours. After confirming that everyone is ready, you head off (if someone takes the job descriptions being undertaken with them, let me know. It won't affect anything other than what is showing on the board when you next visit). Following the map, you make good time, arriving at the location marked after 4.5 hours. There is a canyon in the mountains, with your destination on the eastern side of the canyon. The canyon’s rocky walls rise to a height of eighty feet. At the end of the canyon, a twenty-foot-high wall of black stone has a broken gate carved into it, with one stone door hanging precariously by a hinge and the other door missing. Beyond this open gate, in the shadow of a great mountain to the east, lies a ruined settlement. All is quiet.
"- Destined to die we sure are, no wiser words were ever spoken. Don't get me wrong Gor, i do not mind dying especially if it could be by your side my friend, but you see if we are destined to die i don't see the need to try and rush it or be helping that destiny. My nature tells me to oppose it. Maybe that is just my spite that i developed when i was serving as squire for that buffon sir Spencer. Do you remember him maybe? I think he did visited your Tribe as a bodyguard for my older brother, at least at couple of first visitations. Anyway i am missing the point of conversation. Summarizing: I would love to hear more about Lodis, and maybe fall into her grace eventually. I will however do everything in my power to postpone that meeting. " /He ends his say with a smirk towards Gor/
/Hmm, since it is excavation site, Biezdar would like to guess looking at the gates, or coming closer and touching if it is in this state from a long time, or does it look like a recent siege./

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Quin/Orson heads off ahead of the main group as they set out on the road. He keeps far enough ahead that the conversation between Gor and Biezdar is just out of ear shot. He stops once he sees their destination and allows the party to catch up.
He arrives at the gate with the rest.
"Give me a moment and I'll go take a look around.".
He slips through the gate and slinks off to do some reconnaissance.
Stealth: 19
Perception: 22
(OCC: Since I'm not entirely sure of the distances here let's say Quin goes just far enough either towards or into the ruins to assess that no further danger exists and that the party is safe to proceed. He will then return with his Intel and inform the rest.
As the party traveled to its destination, Jayson would interject a barb, witticism, or observation. Upon reaching the site, the bard watched as their scout moved ahead. He unfolds the post he’d snagged from the board.
”Could be the settlement pre-dates the dwarves’ arrival to this spot. The posting says the dwarves are archaeologists. Those folks don’t bother with places no one’s occupied before.”
Jayson waits for Orson’s return to learn what the scout has gleaned.
The walk is nothing for Gor. He has been a nomad his whole life. Travel is all in a days work, going from site to site as they hunt, gather, skirmish with their rivals on the borders. He enjoys his talk with Biezdar and his new friends as they make the five-ish mile trek to the Dwarven excavation.
"Friend Biezdar, you have much to learn." Gor tells him, listening to his questions about Lodis. "To Lodis, a life lived without fearless sacrifice is wasted. She encourages the limitless giving of ones self, and applauds the courage and tenacity of a warrior who would willingly go into the mistlands to gaze upon her."
His brow wrinkles when he thinks about Sir Spencer.
"Oah! Sir Spencer, yes. Gor remembers him. Wasn't he the one that did not appreciate the udderball championship? What an uncivilized buffoon! I don't know anyone who doesn't appreciate udderball! He just kept blabbering about how he didn't like kicking around a goat udder stuffed with hay. Very uncultured, oah."
He watches the gates as Orson slips beyond them to scout out the location.
"Orson, just remember the signal!" He says, probably a little too loudly as Orson makes his way past. "Just shout it, yes? Oah oah oah!"
I should mention that I took the guidance cantrip. Dunno how the dm wants to handle that but it means I can add a d4 to people’s skill checks
Out of combat, if someone has made it obvious that they are going to do something (Like saying, I am going to go and scout ahead), I will assume you might have cast guidance and if they are close to a DC, I will roll a d4 to add to it (provided it isn't multiple checks at one time)

You have not heard anything about a siege around here in any of your history lessons, and seeing that it is not too far from your land you expect it would have come up if there was a siege. You can't tell what has broken the doors though.

Quin goes through the doors, and there is a ruined settlement. You can see a lot of rubble has been cleared away, with outlines of buildings visible as collapsed walls. There is a well to the east that is totally filled with rubble. Just past the well is a partially collapsed, 10ft high wall. The collapse gives room to go through, however that would then take you about 80ft away (55ft as the crow flies, if you are willing to climb over mostly destroyed walls). After exchanging pleasantries with the dwarves, Jayson turns to watch the skies around the dig site. If this place is a potential target, best not to be caught unawares.
Gor follows the crowd, approaching and examining the situation with a skeptical eye.
"Orson, that was not the signal." The Half-Orc says, sounding disappointed. He squints, rubs his chin. Tries to figure out what is happening. Then he leans close to Jayson. "Am I supposed to sledge these ones? Or was I supposed to sledge the midwife? I got excited and forgot."
Jayson vigorously shakes Gor’s hand, as much as anything out of a sense of self-preservation.
