It is morning at the Tower of the Shieldsar in Sundabar, where a group of adventurers has answered the call of Grand Inquisitrix Mary Glendale for an investigation. A young female Shieldsar named Sal brought you to your lodgings last night where you met for the first time, and you stand with her now outside Glendale's audience chamber.
Our Party: Aradurk: Half-Orc Fighter Bartram Shadecrest: Human Rogue Karst: Aasimar Paladin Meepo Dustsweeper: Kobold Monk Travus Hade: Human Rogue
OOC: Before you are introduced to Glendale, introduce your characters to each other. You can roleplay your meeting the night before if you'd like, or simply introduce them and how they got here.
Welcome mates. I look forward to adventuring with you all. Be advised. I am not the mate you bring home to mum but I will damn sure bring you home to her.

From the orders Bartram had received about this job the Grand Inquisitrix Glendale had put out a call for help into an investigation. With him off assignment and the closest to Sundabar it was decided that he was the one to go and take the job. Hopefully his talents of uncovering secrets would prove beneficial to the job. Looking at the other gathered around waiting he decided to introduce himself, "Seeing as we shall be working together I thought that I would introduce myself. The names Bartram, Bartram Shadecrest and it shall be a pleasure to work with you all."
“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
"I'm sure you are surprised why I gathered all of you here."
Some of you looked around to check where the voice is coming from.
"Psst, I'm down the table. Just don't make it obvious you're looking at me."
You can see and smell the trace of sand clinging to his brown scaled body. As you look closer, the creature speaking was a small kobold.
"I'm here because of my ability to quickly run away from danger, or that's what I think of it. Honestly I don't know why that warlock hired me for this job.
Name is Meepo Dustsweeper by the way, hailing from the nomadic Dustsweeper clan. Nice to meet you fellow adventurers."

Karst looks over the group he met last night for the first time as they wait, a small shake of the head at the kobold's claim that he invited them all to this place is joined by a wry smile. Karst knows he has travelled far in the name of his god but he still questions whether this is the place he is really meant to be. Deciding that he will not refuse the orders of his temple master under any circumstances, and that his doubts are therefore useless to him he pushes them down and ignores them.
In blackened chainmail with a black shield emblazoned with a stylized coin with a two-faced head slung across his back hand resting comfortably on the well crafted hilt of a longsword sheathed at his hip Karst looks every inch the warrior, his solid white eyes betray his celestial heritage and make it hard for many to look him in the eye. Today he wears his long black hair partially tied back to stop it falling across his face and the vitality of his tanned skin shows he is still a very young man, not even out of his teens, tall and well muscled there is an intensity about the young aasimar that draws attention.
Chessenta feels a long way away, the Old Kingdoms a place he knows he will return to but not for many years if the temple master has his way, could these folk be companions to him during this time, Karst doesn't know but he intends to study them and learn how they operate in this unfamiliar land.

"You say that you love a good mysterie. You could say, in a since, that my job is to uncover mysteries. I deal in secrets and the uncovering of them so my talents should be suitable for this venture. This mystery may prove to be exciting indeed." As Bartram says this he studies the members of the group. He would be working with these individuals and knowing as much about them would help determine how best there talents could be put to use.

You see a deeper greenish-grey hued humanoid. His tall, muscular frame is covered with groomed leather armor and some varied scars. He stands and walks with a formal grace of a soldier over to Karst and surveys him, recognizing his well kept blade as a sign of respect. After a moment, he smiles and offers his hand. "May our swords make clear paths before us", Aradurk states with a steady voice.
He turns and addresses Meepo with a sigh: "Kobold - I am never inclined to overtrust your kind but I will not give you disrespect until you earn it."
Leaning against the wall, he scans the two humans and asks quietly and with what sounds like a touch of concern, "What are your areas of expertise?"

The Shieldsar swings open the doors to Glendale's audience chamber, where The Warblade of Sundabar, Grand Inquisitrix Ser Mary Glendale, High Protector of the Silver Marches, Orc-Bane, and Paladin stands examining an orcish blade. The room is vast and spacious, indicating the high rank of the woman within, but plainly furnished. The Warblade turns and in one fluid motion cleaves a nearby oaken table in twain. The Warblade tosses the scimitar to a man in an elvish cloak. The man, who seemingly appeared from shadows, examines the blade with a disgusted look. The Warblade surveys the group before the Shieldsar can introduce you, saying, “Comrades, we have a problem.”
The kobold immediately hits his head at the table and emits a small cry as he was caught surprised by the sudden destruction of the nearby table. He thinks to himself he's lucky to not hide below it.
"Please don' t startle me like that, and don't destroy tables wantonly, I might be hiding beneath it you know."
Meepo calms himself by taking a deep breath and asks the furious paladin.
"Is the problem that bad that we can't run away from it?"

The roguish man simply nods, allowing the Warblade to do the talking. "His spies obtained this stolen blade from a Ripped-Gut orc encampment in the Moon Pass to the south. They saw dozens more in the orc warriors' possession. I don't think I need to explain that orcs are not capable of creating such fine weaponry. Someone has been smuggling caches of magic weapons to the orc tribes in the Nether Mountains.
Now, the problem is, I cannot send a large or obvious force to learn the information I desire; certainly not a group affiliated with Sundabar. Expeditions into territories controlled by orc tribes are a...politically sensitive matter, to say the least, with the Dark Arrows Empire. Before I continue, are you all willing to investigate this matter further?"
