Recently I asked in another thread if there was interest in me running a level 1 adventure, the module "The Sunless Citadel". I had three people (TriWait, CruentusRelic and MoistBooks) express interest in in that thread, so I'm going ahead and starting a recruitment thread to get one or two additional players and hopefully we can start soon!
Details:
"The Sunless Citadel" is a 3rd edition module adapted for 5th edition in "Tales from the Yawning Portal". You will make a level 1 character, point buy. Players will start out in the small mostly-human town of Oakhurst, so explain in your backstory what you're doing there.
I'm interested. I have a Dragonborn Barbarian Named Hunhow that I've been wanting to use. His backstory is like this: A former member of a gold dragonborn clan to the west, Hunhow always had a short temper, and found himself more at home in a fighting pit than in a library. He became somewhat famous among the poor of his hometown, who would often go to watch him take part in local arena fights. Eventually, the clan patriarch discovered Hunhow's secret and cast him out, deeming him a "disgrace to the clan who would amount to nothing." Hunhow, in a mixture of rage and spite, responded by swearing to become the most famous gladiator in history. It has been 5 years since that day, and Hunhow is making progress. Already, stories of the Golden dragonborn's prowess as both a mercenary and a gladiator have begun spreading. As for why he's in Oakhurst, he's probably just passing through on his way to one of the bigger cities. Here's his sheet.
Backstory: The Beaumont family is no stranger to wealth, power, and privilege. In the glory days of Neverwinter, Alexander's parents were the count and countess of Corlinn Hill. But Mount Hotenow erupted thirty years ago, devastating Neverwinter and erasing Corlinn Hill from the map. Instead of growing up on an estate, Alexander was raised in a small but comfortable town house in Waterdeep. As an adult, he stands to inherit a meaningless title and little else.
He personal goal now is to restore power to his family name and prove himself to his family. With the right favors, some renown and some coin he now hopes fix all of this. Eager to make a name for himself and restore his family's lands he heads to the town of Oakhurst. The legend of the Sunless Citadel is well known locally, and stories indicate it is a place that holds promise for those intent on discovery, glory, and treasure!
“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
