If there's shouting to be heard from the manor, Vruuk snaps out of his funk to watch the building more closely from then on. His personal crisis could wait for later. Much, MUCH later, if given a choice in the matter.

Turning back toward Penny "Ma'am, that's a lot of noise for even an Elderly woman hard of hearing to sleep through. He said she wasn't well. As a concerned citizen I request an official well being check on Lady Hayes from the watch. Please under your official authority go upstairs and see that she is present and well. We stand as witnesses should anyone commit a crime like interfering with the execution of your sworn duty..."
Cinders not knowing how he can help just sits there quietly, if asked by his siblings to help he will however he can. Other than that he just sits there, giving the coachman a slightly unnerving toothy grin.

Plus, maybe they had some more clues hidden around here somewhere As Veng made a racket, she decided to use this as her chance to snoop. "I gotta use the bathroom, I'm going to go find your outhouse!" she said quickly, skittering out.
If the front door is out of sight of everyone else: She would open and close the door loudly to make it seem as though she'd run outside, before sneaking down the hallway
If the front door is not out of sight: She would dart out the front door, then begin creeping around the house searching for any unlocked windows, and as soon as she found one she would climb inside (assuming she didn't see anyone through it.)

"What if you take me up to see Lady Hayes, the rest of my... investigators" She smile looking to Veng and Cinders as Gin walks away "can stay here if you wish for a moment, I feel that is a fair compromise.. unless" She pauses as the bugbear bursts through the door "You would rather all of us walking through the house and crowding aroud a sick old lady..."she will say taping her pen on her notepad. The butlers eyes would dart from the woman to the door as the bugbear bursts in. He manages to catch sight of the goblin ducking down a hallway instead heading outside like she said because of the wet hairy mass drawing his attention to the door. "Wait! no... FINE!" The man would say exhaustively, rubbing his face with his hands. "I will take you to Lady Hayes and you may ask her some questions and then you must leave! all of you!" he says looking from Penny to the group. A moment later he begins stomping up the stairs. Penny looks at the man an then back to the group "I will only be gone a couple minutes, feel free to look for any other clues. Do you have any questions you want me to ask her in particular?" She will whisper to Veng and Cinders before quickly joining the dark haired man and disappearing through the heavy wooden doors.
Smiling, whispering and leaning in to Penny "honestly I didn't think that would work. Yeah go ask questions and we can look for clues. Try and announce when you're heading down to give us a warning. I think church connections, Cassandra, the attack and our parents are all of interest. She could be accused of aiding and abetting that might give you leverage......and...be careful if she isn't here that guy may try and kill you/us."

Once the butler is upstairs with Penny Veng will assume his form to search the house in case other staff is present. Looking for hidden panels/compartments or a cellar. Nothing really in the open more where you would hide cult details or criminal plans.
Stealth 8 investigation 23 (after the coast is clear)

She paused for a moment, making a quick profanity-laden prayer to the Sylvan Ghost, casting Detect Magic. She would look around the room they were in, then after Cinders replied, she would wander the house with the spell active.

So the moment Penny and the butler (I guess I should name him? or have Penny ask his name?) head upstairs, those of you in the house begin searching the place (Pokim can search too or he can hold the dog as both the bugbear and mastiff start to create a large puddle in the front entry way!). Gin casts detect magic on herself and begins walking through the first floor. As she gets to the kitchen she notices a jug on the top of a fairly high shelf that seems to be emanating a warm glow indicating that it is a magical item.
Cinders and Veng work to spread out and begin examining the different portraits around the room more closley. Cinders notices after examining many of the pictures that the blonde haired woman in many of the portraits is definitely Lady Hayes and the younger girl in the photos must be her daughter. The man in some of the portait does not appear to look like anyone you have seen before. Cinders also notices one of the paintings is of Sleepy Timbers. It shows a silver mine in the center of town where the Shining Crescent Church stands now. It also shows that there was another smaller silver mine located where the orphanage was built. You think that perhaps some how the old silver mine tunnels may still exist and could maybe connect your home to other areas in town after seeing this.
Veng attempts to be quiet as he moves up the stairs to examine a different portrait. This portait is slightly different. It is older than the others and appears to show a 16 or 18 year old Lady Hayes standing next to a beautiful platinum haired woman. The picture is faded so it is hard to tell for sure but you think the artist may have tried to make it look as though the platnum haired woman had glowing eyes but it may just be really faded. As you go to lift the painting away from the wall to check behind it for a secret compartment or safe you notice some writing on the back. The writing says "Shektra and Moora Hayes, The sun and the moon, The light of the night and the day" As Veng finishes reading the text the painting comes loose from the wall and crashes to the floor, causing the frame around the portrait to break into pieces as the canvass cumples to the floor.
"WHAT WAS THAT!?" You hear as the butler shouts from behind the heavy wooden doors as he hears the picture crash the the ground.

If Vruuk winces if he hears any more noise, as well as become all the more antsy about the whole situation. Again, he tries to look around to see if any neighbors grow concerned, or are still gawking at the manor. Only after does he slowly but surely settles back in for watch, though far more nervous now.
Vruuk is able to watch as pokim rushes into the house and does not immediately return. He also is able to hear some yelling but has a hard time actually making out any words.
Cinders will take note of silver mines and the portraits. He mutters to himself in draconic, "I wonder if I can find the mines entrance, and if I can, will it be linked to the church??"
He will continue looking over the portraits, before heading over to Veng and knowing that his sibling can understand him, he says in draconic, "I want to go investigate a lead. I wont be long but I will take Pok'im with me. Are you able to stay here with Gin and Officer Penny? If I don't see you back at the sheriff station, I will meet you back at the house, ok?"
He will then go and find his wet brother and dog. Upon finding Pok'im, "I want to go investigate something, and I was hoping you would come with me. But first," He lowers his voice as he says the next part, "Even though he said he doesn't want to be apart of this, I am sure big brother Vrukk is out there watching. Do you think you can find him and the two of you meet me outside the town? Near the same gate we entered. I will explain everything then."
He will then start heading towards the gate, telling Vignar to follow.
