Lia has been on the fringes of the criminal underworld of Tarnos all of her life. She grew up spending a lot of time in a local tavern, where her mom worked as a serving girl. Often, while her mother worked, or slept after a long night of working, Lia would be out on the streets with her friends. She learned the arts of picking pockets, locks, and much more during those days.
One day, while Lia and her friends were taking things that did not belong to them, Lia found a black crystal. It called to her, so she picked it up. Once in her hand it spoke to her and she learned that it was but a link to some being from another place. She kept the crystal, and has worn it around her neck since that day. The entity linked to her has told her the crystal is of no further use, but Lia keeps it anyway.
When Lia was contacted to come to this meeting she thought to refuse. In the end she decided to go, since her expertise in criminal matters, plus her contacts in that area, might be of great use in this matter. She also felt sure the reward would be pretty sizeable.
Character name: Helena Cain Race: Half Elf Class: Rogue/Assassin Backstory: Helena grew up admiring her parents. Both were a part of the town's guard and everyday, they fought and put their lives on the line to protect the people. She grew up wanting to be just like them and eventually joined the towns guard herself. She was a young and proud new recruit for but a week before all her dreams were shattered. It turned out that both the towns guard and her parents were corrupt. She watched as her parents ignored an innocent man being beaten as a heavy bag of coin were placed into their hands. She tried to expose the corruption, reporting it to the higher ups but all she got was a severe warning. If she were to interfere in their "business", she would see her own blood split. Her parents loved her, of course, and warned her to simply accept it. For months, she tried to turn a blind eye to the pain and suffering of the people. But eventually, it became too much and.... she simply left. Her heart was heavy with guilt and shame but, as she left behind her home, she looked towards the future with hope, swearing to protect the innocent and to strike down any corruption she encountered.
Class: Rogue Swashbuckler with Hexblade dip (for the shield prof - thus the swashbuckler ^^)
Backstory: As an Eladrin Harq's moods and feelings change like the seasons. Once he reached adulthood he signed up on the first ship that promised him adventure and escape (not from anything specific, just from everything), which turned out to take adventuring very seriously, though not always so legally. This suited Harq fine, though wasn't what he expected, he goes with the flow well, at least until he gets bored. After a few years learning the skills of the sea, earning himself a bit of a reputation at some ports, and finding a somewhat mystical rapier ((hexblade)), he's taking a leave from his crew (though will never forget them), and ready to start a new adventure; and why not start with a job to explore and find a missing relic?

Backstory: Kronk is an abomination, there is no other word for it. It seems a rather insane Necromancer was experimenting with mashing together different corpses and body parts. In one experiment, his last, unfortunately for him (or maybe not), he was working with the corpse of an halfling and a corpse of an ogre. Need less to say he was working 'discretely,' for fear of persecution you see, out in a very secluded wood. As it happened a thunder and lightening storm sprang up out of nowhere, putting him into a pretty foul mood; but the upshot was dramatic to say the least. Just as he cast the final parts of the spell he was struck by one fork of a bolt of lightening, the other one struck the halfling/ogre mess he was working on. It appears to have killed the necromancer but at the same time transferred his life force into the mess he was ensorcelling, causing it to animate into the being that calls itself Kronk. By-the-by, for some reason unknown to himself, Kronk HATES necromancers. He has no memory of what happened, just remembers coming to in a storm next to a rather crispy corpse and the brutal struggle to find a place in the world that followed.
Perhaps not the prettiest rock, but fierce to enemies and loyal to all companions.

Background: Brodan came from a clan of dwarves that had long ago been enslaved by a Red Dragon and the cult that followed it. Through several generations of servitude and mind bending magic the dwarves of Clan Frostbeard came to see the Dragon as their true leader, serving him by building his lair and through other means. Overtime as this went on the magic nature of the dragon began to change them.
Brodan was born in the last generation, showing magic from a young age. Due to his magic he was trained to harness it and use it to help deal with other creatures in the area that the dragon did not want to deal with. As his skills on magic grew the young dwarf began to think that he could use it to do as he wanted. Over several years by doing as he was told, Brodan managed to gain enough trust to be sent out of the lair far enough to go into a city to gain information about the wider world.
Once in the city, Brodan continued to spy even though the information he sent back was fake. As he spent more time in the city he met other dwarves that after a while trusted him enough to tell him more about the history of his race outside of his clan. With this true history in mind, Brodan began to use his magic to become an adventurer to gain power so that he could become powerful enough to slay the dragon and free his clan.

Backstory: Born and raised in a secluded village in a forest. He loved the forest sorrounding his village and would spend whole days playing and exploring it. This allowed him to spend even more time in his beloved forest, prowling in it looking out for beasts or possible invaders. One day he was a witness to something he shouldn't have.
