Hey, hey! If you've seen my interest check, you'll know that I'm planning to run a campaign set in Wildemount, one that will be dependent on the players. Essentially, I don't have a plan for a campaign, so I chose the lazy path and went with having my players decide on what type of campaign they'd like to play. Want to play a high-stakes, swashbuckling campaign full of fighting the Revelry and roaming up and down the Menagerie Coast? Awesome! Would you rather play a war-themed campaign? Sure, that's alright with me! (As stated before, if you try to suggest a space-themed campaign in which we visit the moons of Exandria, I will feed you personally to a pack of gnolls.) Oh yeah, I almost forgot! You'll need to have access to the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, as I'm not able to content-share with you all.
I definitely did a worse job of explaining what I'm doing than in my interest check. If somehow you're still interested, you can apply by doing a few things.
Instead of creating a character, I'd like to know about you, your style of playing (roleplay or combat, serious or comedic, things like that), your experience playing D&D, and why you'd like to play in a campaign like this. I'll leave this open for a few days, before I make any decisions. (Interest Check: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/74803-interest-check-wildemount-campaign#c17) (side note: this was written on mobile, which I'm not used to. Don't yell at me for sucking at writing campaign descriptions on mobile, lol)
Edit: clarified a vague question, and adding a side note in case anyone didn't realize: the above listed campaign ideas are only examples! If you're into them, great! If you're not, that's perfectly alright - the options won't be restricted to only those two, (: oh, and I'll add a bit about myself, maybe. I'm terribly boring, so no promises.
I'd be interested in joining up, been looking for a Wildmount campaign for a while now and this one seems like a good start to one. As for me, I've been playing D&D for a few years now, mostly PBP. My style of playing is varied based on the campaign, group, character, etc... sorry, vague question gets vague answer, lol. I've got rough characters in mind for either empire or dynasty, but can make a character for the coast if that's where the group wants to go. I like the idea of a war-themed campaign but would enjoy a more swashbuckling sea campaign as well.
I am currently waiting for my IRL group to get back together, and we are gonna do Wildemount. however, in the mean time, a PbP would be a happy medium. I would like to say sam an experienced player (6+ years of RP, 4+ years of 5e). I am newish to PbP, but I am in a few and they are pretty intuitive. I have personally never done a war campaign, and I would absolutely love to. I am also down for a swashbuckling adventure, or a dungeon crawl if that is what it turns into. I am big into role-play, and I enjoy combat and exploration equally. thanks for your consideration.
Did someone say swashbuckling? No but in all seriousness this sounds like a lot of fun. I'm a player who enjoys roleplaying first and foremost, and then combat second. I've never had a chance to play in Wildemount for very long and I really want to. I've been playing dnd for 2ish years now and play by post for a little over a year.
My play is 100% based on what is going on in the game. I love playing DND and love playing on these forums, as most of you should realize by now... lol.
As to what of the ones you listed I'd like, well they all sound good, so I feel I could enjoy any or all of them. I'd love to play the echo knight, the gravity mage, or maybe the chronergy mage. I can make a character for which ever theme you end up going with.
Hi there! I have been playing D&D for about 3 years now, and PbP for about 4 months. I have been a fan of Critical Role for 4 years (they were the ones who got me started playing!) and I want to explore Wildemount as much as possible. I had a great Wildemount game which unfortunately fizzled.
As far as style goes, what matters for me is that we have fun. I enjoy comedy in the games, so long as we stay away from overly sexualized memes or murder hobo tendencies. Of the three pillars, I prefer role-play and exploration, because combat has a tendency to drag on PbP.
I'd like a swashbuckling adventure! That sounds like a blast. I would love to explore the Menagerie Coast more, because it's my favorite region. Alternatively, a monster campaign in Xhorhas would be amazing!
I am relatively new back to D&D after a long absence but have jumped into PbP during the epidemic pretty heavily. I like a heavy dose of RP in with the combat but I am not fanatic about it... I do tend to dislike those who are totally about maximizing everything but otherwise I think I am pretty laid back and relaxed. I would like to play in this campaign because I am desperately trying to catch up with my Critical Role (only found it a few month ago, start of pandemic and only up to S1Ep98) and I love the world there... Think there is a lot of potential in it.
Character wise I would be open to most anything... I've a couple characters in my head already that I've experimented a bit with (1/2 Orc Cleric, Tiefling Monk) but I am also adaptable and willing to make a character to fit the needs of the adventure. I'm more concerned about creating the personality than the stats. *shrug*

We're doing one small murder-y thing for a bigger, better reason. The ends justify the means.
Hi! I’m Kim. I’ve been playing DnD for more than a half year now. And I also started PbP for a few months now. Personally, I prefer text based game over voice, since I can roleplay my character better.
For play style, actually I like all aspect of DnD, but if I have to choose I will go for roleplay. I like to interact with the world and explore it. I like a medium pace game, which I have opportunity to see the surround, and still keep the campaign going without losing momentum. Though, my favorite part is Character creation. I like to mess around races and classes then come their background.
I think Wildemount provide a good setting to roleplaying. I might have more chance to explore my character. Also, because I’m a critter.
I posted interest in the interest thread and have played here with quite few of those applying above. Have played rpgs for the last 35 years and D&D for the last 3. Longterm Critter. completely caught up.
I love roleplay and while I'm not adverse to combat its usually not the most memorable part of the game for me. The interactions between PCs and PCs/NPCs is the highlight of playing.
I would be ecstatic about a Wildemount game if you'll take me. Swashbuckling sounds fun- navigating the islands, exploring Ki'Nau ruins, fighting pirates off of Darktow. I'm currently off work because of the pandemic so can play any pace you want.
Hi there! I'm Inked. I've been playing D&D for about two-ish years now, but I've been doing play-by-post roleplaying for about 20ish years. I love telling collaborative stories; there's just something about it that's always appealed to me. I prefer text games because I'm far more eloquent over text than I can ever be over voice; it just works better for me.
I'm normally a mix between serious and comedic, leaning more heavily towards serious. However, comedic moments are always welcome and appreciated. In that same vein, I tend to lean more towards roleplay and exploring than combat, but I don't mind a healthy mixture of all three! I do like to feel immersed in the world and I love exploring characters' connections to the world and each other; character development is my jam. I've been wanting to play in a wildemount campaign for ages; I have both the physical copy as well as the copy here on dndbeyond. I'm not sure if players can share with the campaign, but I'd be happy to do so if that's the case - I have a Master tier sub.
Campaign-wise I'm open to pretty much anything. I love adventure and intrigue and high stakes!
HI there! I'm interested. I have been playing since earlier this year, so still pretty new to the game, however have been DM for my local game in that time and play several PbP games. I have also played with a couple of the players that have posted above.
I enjoy a healthy mix of all the pillars, but RP and combat are definitely higher. I tend towards more serious, but if the game or situation is more comedic, I will still get involved. As for the game, a war-based campaign sounds really interesting, however am happy playing anything really - it's all about the adventure! And I love the idea of building the world and story with you as well.
I'm in Australia, so will usually catch up and post during our daytime hours (US night time). Just thought I'd add that, as some don't seem to like massive time differences.
Hello! I'm J. As a longtime CR fan I would definitely be interested in playing a Wildemount Campaign- I fact I stole your idea and started a PBP Wildemount campaign of my own! I've been playing 5E for a few years with a regular group, as well as DMing a few occasional one shots. In RPGs I am mostly interested in exploring the world of the game and finding out secrets, though I do love RP and Combat too. In tone, I tend to favour a mix of comedy and serious themes. As for the theme of the campaign, I would love to do either a swashbuckling campaign or a war campaign- both sound amazing. I'm in the UK so will be 6-8 hours ahead of US, just thought you might appreciate a heads up.
I am very slowly getting through Campaign 1 of CR and have heard many great things about Campaign 2. I have been playing for about 5 years from a myriad of comedic to dramatic settings both on Roll20, TableTop and PbP here. I have attempted to DM a game or two but I have seriously poor taste in party members ranging from minmaxers to metagaming to no shows. Several people who have shown interest will know me from one of the current PbP we are in as Whistler. Would love to attempt a swashbuckling adventure as it would be a brand new playstyle to me. Looking forward to it!

I posted in the Wildemount Campaign interest forum.
As for my for my style, I like comedic roleplaying - my characters are usually based on TV show characters like Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Raymond Holt, who I modeled my dragonborn paladin after, Rosa Diaz, the inspiration for my halfling ranger or Ron Swanson, who I based my drow paladin Rai Swansong. I tend to make characters geared toward combat, so paladins, rangers, fighters and barbarians. I also like to play druids and I'm itching to play a cleric. If I'm playing in Wildemount, I wouldn't mind playing a blood hunter or gunslinger. If we've got our melee and ranged combat taken care of, I'd be fine with trying out a wizard or a warlock.
I've been playing 5e D&D for two years and I'm currently running a Curse of Strahd campaign that actually started as a Wildemount game. I learned a lot about playing 5e and being a DM from watching Critical Role. I won't lie, I'm a fan - I have three CR shirts and a Vox Machina hoodie. I'm generally easy when it comes to DMs - the only time I have a problem is if the DM or a player is being a jerk at the table and making things less fun for players, i.e. interrupting the game to discuss a rule for 30 minutes or telling other people how to play their characters.
I have a few different reasons why I'd like to play in a campaign like this. First, I've been wanting to play in a Wildemount campaign since I bought the book and fell in love with the setting. I've played in a few startup Wildemount and CR-inspired games that never really went anywhere - such is the way of PBP. My Curse of Strahd campaign actually started as a Wildemount campaign, but I got the itch to run CoS. In a nutshell, this would give me a chance to play in a lengthy campaign in Wildemount. Another reason is I like to play with new people, especially players newer to the game - and I especially like playing with Critical Role fans. I know some longtime D&D players have complained about it but every time I've rolled dice with Critters was great. A third reason is I get the chance to roll a new character, which is always fun. Since the game is in Wildemount, I have multiple options to pick. On the same token, I can reintroduce older characters into a new adventure.
As I previously wrote, I have the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount Book on DND Beyond if anyone needs to use it.
I live in the U.S., PST and I can post multiple times a day. Down the road, I can help with the DMing duties on occasion if need be.

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
I would LOVE to join a Wildemount campaign. I am an avid CR fan and though I live in Norway and the streams are in the middle of the night I get up at 4 to watch the streams and head right off to uni as soon as it ends. I have pretty good experience with DnD and I've both played and DM'ed in IRL-campaigns for 4 years now. I love changing up the playstyle from time to time and I've DM'ed both the gloomy Curse of Strahd and home games where entire arcs of the campaign are centred around serious themes.. Then there are the games where we just goof around and have fun with the game and each other Jester-style, so I guess I have no preferred style. It should be said that I do enjoy some good roleplaying and it might be my favorite thing about the game, but combat and exploration are both great too, and just further sets the scene for roleplay and an amazing story we create together!
I love the concept of nautical swashbuckling campaigns and war focused campaigns, but the surviving icy tundras in the north or trekking through the gloomy marshes of the Empire is just as fun with a great group of adventurers by my side, and no matter what region we end up representing and exploring I'll be more than happy!
I own the Exandria book and would love to explore the setting further with you guys, and no matter the style of play we end up with I'll just be happy with the fact that I can part-take in an actual Wildemount game!
Out of curiousity, do you plan on using the Heroic Chronicle out of that book?
Yep, that's part of the reason I'd like everyone to hold off on creating their characters. While I'm planning on using it, if the players would rather not use it, I'm cool with that. I'm not sure on people's opinions on the Heroic Chronicle.
Also, I'm going to close down this recruitment page. Thanks everyone for applying! Over the next day or so, I'll decide on who I'd like to play with, so hold on until you hear from me. If anyone has any other questions, feel free to post them or just PM me.

so, I’m fine with any kind of campaign, I just really like the RP part of it.

Should I post my character?
Nope - characters can be made after the theme of the campaign is chosen by the players selected.

Also, I'm going to close down this recruitment page. Thanks everyone for applying! Over the next day or so, I'll decide on who I'd like to play with, so hold on until you hear from me. If anyone has any other questions, feel free to post them or just PM me.
