ENABLING CONTENT FOR YOUR CHARACTER
To use content from Valda's Spire of Secrets: Player Pack in the character builder, you will need to set the character preferences to include Mage Hand Press source category (see the .gif below).
2024 RULES
This player pack uses the new 2024 rule set. All the new sub-classes, species, feats, spells, and magic items utilize these new rules. Sub-classes included in this player pack are not compatible with 2014 classes.
NEW SPELLS
The player pack features 15 new spells. These spells are mostly supported with the following exception:
Chronomancy. This player pack includes a new type of magic called Chronomancy. At this time D&D Beyond cannot support new schools of magic. The spell listings for these spells use the alternative schools of magic presented in the player pack and include a tag for "Chronomancy".
NEW MAGIC ITEMS
The book features 5 new magic items. These magic items are mostly supported with the following exception:
Actions on Magic Items. Some of the new magic items grant specific actions as part of their magic. D&D Beyond doesn’t currently support the ability to attach actions directly to magic items; we have included charges and associated spells where appropriate, but in the case that an item’s functionality is otherwise text-only, we recommend creating Custom Actions on the character sheet to represent those items.
You'll have to talk to Mage Hand Press if you want these on the 2014 classes. Alternatively, you can make a homebrew copy of the 2024 subclass to see exactly how it was set up, then transfer it over to a blank 2014 subclass (for private use only; please don't publish it).
When building a character with the new races, under the Gepettin, it doesnt get an option for Marionette under Gepettin Construction. It only lists Bisque and Plushie under the options.
For the gepettin race, Marionette is an option for size and not gepettin construction, and you must select Marionette in order to be able to select the medium size category
Agreed. Really upset that this content is not made available on beyond for character creation. I wouldn’t have bothered to purchase if I had know this.😢
It’s not meant to be a full conversion of the original book. Seems to me like they designed this as more of a budget offering to gradually update their content rather than delaying until the entire book can be converted. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more of these, but you’d have to ask Mage Hand Press if you want to know what their true plan is here.

Sucks that these are only for 2024 rules. Would've loved these in my 2014 campaigns.
They/Them
My Homebrew:
Can they make a 2014 conversion for the subclasses?(& the 2024 PHB ones, for that matter)
Also, a good chunk of spells don't properly link to their 2024 terminology pages.
I caught multiple incidents of the term "Emanation" not being linked, for example.
Furthermore, there is currently a bug with the Gepttikin involved with the implementation of the Marionette option, too.

I might just do that.

Is there any talk about getting the whole expansion added to Beyond? It would be great to get the new classes it adds on the character creator.
Second this. I really want the Necromancer.
If you'd like to see more of these added, please share that with Mage Hand Press.

I did.
They're not putting up 2014 versions by WIzBro's request, only 2024 versions of what was requested to be in the pack.
none of the barbarian wizards skills are actually implemented, they are all hidden away under other and features... the spells are not there at all
please fix this!
They're not meant to appear on the Spells tab, if that's what you mean. They aren't actually spells.

It's almost like this is like the Grim Hollow Player Pack, & there's a precedent for this.
Grim hallow has the same problem?
No they appear hidden away in features and not in actions
Is the 2024 version a watered down version of the 2014?
a lot of content seems to be missing!

Clue, Memorize, and Rumor from this book can be selected for the Fey Touched feat from the 2024 PHB, but not the one from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. These spells are the versions written for 2024 rules, but they should still be useable with 2014 rules.
