To use content from The Griffon’s Saddlebag: Book One in the character builder, you will need to set the character preferences to include The Griffon’s Saddlebag source category (see the .gif below).
NEW MAGIC ITEMS
This book features a variety of new magic items. These magic items are partially supported with the following exceptions:
Actions on Magic Items. Some of the new magic items grant specific actions as part of their magic. D&D Beyond doesn’t currently support the ability to attach actions directly to magic items; we have included charges and associated spells where appropriate, but in the case that an item’s functionality is otherwise text-only, we recommend creating Custom Actions on the character sheet to represent those items.
Multiple Charges on Magic Items. Some of the new magic items grant multiple effects that can be tracked by the player. D&D Beyond doesn’t currently support the ability to attach multiple charges to magic items; we have only added one of the charges to these types of magic items. We recommend creating Custom Actions on the character sheet to represent the second charge that the magic item grants.
Prerequisite Properties. D&D Beyond does not currently support prerequisites for Magic Items.
Added Proficiencies. D&D Beyond does not currently support granting proficiency to a specific magic item or its specific forms (ie - for Fife of Dragonsong, proficiency as an Instrument and Blowgun cannot be granted).
Changes to Base Properties. Magic items, such as Starmetal Shield, applies a different AC Bonus than its base item and others, like Squasher, allows a player to substitute damage modifiers. Currently, D&D Beyond cannot replace the base AC granted when the item is unattuned or substitute damage modifiers.
Multiple Weapon Types. D&D Beyond cannot support magic items, such as Lover's Embrace, that can switch between two different base weapons. To accommodate these magic items, we have created individual listings for each weapon type.
Non-Weapon Magic Items. The book features a variety of wondrous items and armor that deal damage. Currently, D&D Beyond cannot support damage outside of magic items that are weapons. The Damage tag has been added to these listings to help with searchability.
NEW SUBCLASSES
This book features twelve new subclasses that are compatible with 5.5e characters. These subclasses are mostly supported with the following exceptions:
Frost Sorcery. Frost Sorcerers gain Resistance to Cold damage at Level 6, but then Cold Immunity at Level 18. At this time, D&D Beyond cannot override modifiers at greater levels, thus both modifiers are represented in the Defenses section at Level 18 and higher.
Path of the Glacier. The Level 3 Frostbite feature is not limited to Rage only. The action is represented on the Character Sheet to allow for players to roll for the extra damage regardless of whether or not Rage is activated.
NEW SPECIES
The book features one new species: Feathren. This species is fully supported and compatible with 5.5e characters.
NEW TAGS
This book features magic items that transform (from one item to multiple) and some that have added effects to reduce damage. The tags "Damage Reduction" and "Transforming" have been added to help with searchability.
When choosing Path of the Glacier, the Frostbite choice at level three does gives not option, just says "Choose An Option" but there is not option to pick from. When in the character sheet, the Frostbite ability says "No Choice Made". The description of the ability doesn't look like there should even be a choice to make.

The feathren species doesn’t let you pick your feline or avian ancestry traits it just says “choose level 1 option”

ModeratorDid you first choose an ability in Feathren Ancestry? You'll need to do that before you'll see options for Avian Ancestry or Feline Ancestry.

ModeratorThe subclasses will only work on the 5.5e classes. Anything else could still be used on a character with a 5e class.
