Across Khorviare and beyond I have had many adventures. From The Mournlands to Xendrik. I have dined with the Undying and wades in the marshes with my shifter brethren. I miss Eberron. I miss it, like A LOT. It was an amazing campaign and an amazing campaign setting. When 3.5 ended it's run I didn't switch over to 4th Edition. (Editor's Note: TheGmoat hated 4th Edition D&D.) So for years I have been living out my fantasy alter ego in other worlds. The Realms, The Inner Sea and even some weird zombie game with vampires. But I haven't been back to Eberron. I want a 5th Edition Eberron. I NEED a 5th Edition Eberron. I want to pilot a House Lyrander airship again, I want to forge my future as a Warforged Artificer. I want to battle the Inspired and take back my lands. I know, the psionic classes are just being built up, so it may take some time...but I can't be the only one who loved Eberron, can I?
I would like to see how the world is 20 years after the Last War. I would also like to see some lore build up about what exactly happened to Cyre, like how did it become the Mournlands? I want to see how far the Inspired have gotten to total control. I would also love to see how the Warforge are doing. I wonder if Keith baker will be back. He has said on his website that he has talked to Wizards and that it will be some time before they go back to Eberron, I just hope it won't be 10 years from now.
What would you like to see in the new setting? If there will ever be one, that is.

I'm around the age of D&D, but I experienced it for the first time through the world of Eberron in D&D Online. I thought, "D&D is steam punk??? What have I been missing out on?" Of course, later learned about Darksun, Greyhawk, and the unrelenting push of the Realms since 5.o.
When 5.0 came out, I was pretty psyched about Eberron. The DMG listed it as a world, PoTA had a 'converter' for the various worlds... but it didnt take long to see that 5.0 is the Realms... period. Strahd, Yawning Portal, etc., = Realms. Heck, even Volos guide, for obvious reasons, is Realms - but as a monster manual 2, essentially, its dissapointing the lack of support for other worlds.
In trying to see the good in Volos potential to tie worlds, that are linked in their multi-verse, I was happy that beholders origins were left as unknown... after all, we all know the Daelkyr are responsible for them! :)
Personally - the Realms, tried to like it... played a full campaign, PoTA there, but... ... got tired of waiting for Eberron support and bought essentially every 3.0 Eberron sourcebook available. (Maybe thats WoTCs goal) At this point, really not sure I will purchase more 5.0 material if they cant show some love to other worlds.

I really do want some love for Eberron. I have played D&D for years and when Eberron came out I thought that was it...the game has changed and it will stay this course. Then 5.0 (which I love) has been stuck in the Realms, which I don't hate and do enjoy but...c'mon, Wizards! Give us SOMETHING Eberron. I really did love the magical steampunk feel of Eberron. I like flying airships. I like barbaric halflings! I like the City of Towers so much I planted it into a game I ran in Pathfinder a few years ago. (Also, flying airships and Xendrik) Keith Baker has been awesome about keeping us informed. I know he has this new game he has been working on and trying to get off the ground, so kudos to him. I haven't checked out his site in a couple months... I am going to read up on it right now...

What I love about Eberron is that it isn't steampunk in that it's scifi by way of the industrial revolution. It's technology but it's powered by magic. In real life, electricity sometimes feels like magic so Eberron just literally makes it magic. So you can do scifi styled adventures or you can do basically star wars kind of adventures where there is technology but the technology isn't the focus, it's just the setting. I've never ran an Eberron campaign but I would love to and will by a 5e Eberron book the day it comes out.
I have only gotten a small taste (2-3 sessions) of Eberron and I really want more. Reading the posts in this thread has only convinced me more that Eberron is the setting for me. There have been rumors for years now that Wizards have been working on a 5e campaign for Eberron, with their releases of the Artificer and Warforged UA and whatnot. If this isn't in their next big campaign announcement, I will be sorely disappointed.
On a side note, Wizards seems to be most focused at the moment on procuring a Psionics class for 5e. I know Psionics are a thing in Eberron, but I don't know how prominent they are. Any chance it could be related? Part of me hope not, as it seems like they are still ways away from finalizing it.

And yes, I think they might be related. You NEED psionics in Eberron... the Inspired are a huge psionic threat in Eberron. And there are races they are made of psionic energies. I am hoping with the playtesting going on with the Psionics is just the icing on the Eberron cake they will be unveiling sometime soon. (Fingers crossed!)

I got my start in the old Dungeons & Dragons boxed set. The campaign world was not really at the forefront in the old B and X series adventures, but later on it became Mystara. My first adventure began taking over a character in the Caves of Chaos. I didn't worry about the campaign world until I bought the original Forgotten Realms boxed set. That gave me a lot of ideas for how a campaign was not just running through successive adventures in a series. I felt that Greyhawk was limited in scope and thus limited your choices as a player or a Dungeon Master. I never played in Eberron, except in DDO, but I remember the contest and wondering about the other submissions. I played in Ravenloft and bolted the ideas in Spelljammer onto a few of my own campaigns. I ran a game using the Dragonlance material for a couple sessions, but the players could not get into it. I usually don't run published materials anymore , but will borrow from them in my own campaigns.

To me, Dragonmarks and the Prophecyare Eberron. Everything else is wonderful, but that's the backbone of the setting. Almost all the flavor material can be brought whole-cloth into 5E, but they'll only get one chance to do it, so they need to do it right, and that means doing it all.

If When WotC does return to Eberron, I'd like them to adapt everything form it, even the little known stuff (e.g. the Umbragen Drow and the Daelkyr Half-blood)

Hey, you're welcome...and thank you! I knew I couldn't be the only one! That poster is sick... do you do your own artwork? I'm really glad to see that there are other people who are dying for some more Eberron like I am :) I think the only way to get 100% community involvement is to open it up on the DM Guild. There's a lot of new players to D&D with this edition and a lot of people have only heard about Eberron or only play it in DDO. It's unfair that they haven't got to experience what it is like yet! Great poster, though. I love it!

While my only encounter with the setting is DDO, I absolutely love the Eberron setting (the wiki and Keith's blog are my other sources for Eberron). I'd absolutely love for Eberron to come to 5e, especially the stuff from Xen'drik and Sarlona.
Eberron's take on alignment and monster/race backstories (i.e. scrap it all and rewrite it) is one of the main reasons I love the setting. Drow are so much cooler.
IfWhen WotC does return to Eberron, I'd like them to adapt everything form it, even the little known stuff (e.g. the Umbragen Drow and the Daelkyr Half-blood)Do you have difficulty fitting everything you want into your signature? Then check out the Extended Signature thread!

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."
