Hello everyone! We're moving away from doing full recaps of our liveplay streams, and focusing more on promoting the VoDs and clips. But I know it can be valuable to get a quick recap before a new episode. So along with Todd's regular opening show recap, I've started posting these Summaries, including quotes and links to clips, here on the forums for our shows. This will also give people an easier place to comment and ask questions about the show! Thanks everyone!
The next morning Freely wakes up to a message from his friend Orkira, while Cally receives a strange message in her book from an unknown source. They meet up with Avren and Sofieus, and while the alchemist is distracted by the thought of some fire rocks they all eventually talk with Salame. She is able to fill in a lot of information about the area, and explaining more about the Barren Mother as well as the rock elemental known as a Galeb Duhr. She tells the story of an ancient group of mystics and midwives who had a political falling out and left, possibly to live in the marshes. Offering her maps for examination, Avren is able to triangulate that Port Argent is clearly at the center of all of the events happening in the area. In all of her travels, the strangest town she’s visited was weeks away and filled with tinkerers and creators who made creatures like Cally, but warns the people were nasty and hard to understand. When they mention the beast in the ocean that the marid are fighting, she warns that the stories tell of a dangerous and massive worm called Krunsalla that comes every few years and causes massive destruction. Finally they learn that the continent they are on is called Kamdar.
Avren and Sofieus head for the council chambers so the artificer can defend himself against Wendy’s accusations. Wendy makes impassioned arguments that Avren was irresponsible for giving her child warlock powers without her consent, and demands he be harshly reprimanded. Avren defends himself that Daisy was alone, and asked her if she wanted magic to defend herself, and when she accepted he felt like it was the right thing to do. After much back and forth the council decides to not remove or punish Avren, but requires him to offer tutoring to Daisy as well as take three morality training seminars at Wendy’s monastery.
Meanwhile Freely and Cally find where Chuksana lives to break into her house looking for evidence she may be involved with recent events. With Cally as lookout, Freely uses Sofieus’ invisibility gum to sneak inside and look around. He manages to remain mostly undetected from Chuksana’s wife, Bonnie, though he does not find anything especially suspicious besides some skulls in the attic painted in an unusual way. When the puppy follows him out, he and Cally return the dog and find out Bonnie is not a midwife.
The four meet back up just in time for Daisy to arrive with a stolen

The group give some advice, and money, to Daisy the young goblin warlock, before she leaves with her mother. Then they return to talk to Salame about options to help Avren, Sofieus, and Freely survive under water. She relays to them about a plant called pon that can be consumed to allow water breathing, though there is a chance of an allergic reaction. There is a merchant who sells flowers in town who is selling the weed, but she warns that he is an amature musician who performs very poorly, and may request a jam session as payment. After talking with the two guards at the gate and finding out that one might have a small crush on Barden, they find the flower salesman lounging under a tree nearby. At first Avren and Freely tries to convince him to give up his lute playing so he can have a chance to impress Ericka, and Sofieus even sings an impromptu song about the guard! The singing impresses Barden enough that he agrees to pass over enough of the plants for the three who must breathe, if Sofieus will sing backup on his next gig. She agrees and Barden hands over the weed they require.
After taking a short rest and stashing any items they don’t want to get wet, they head to the water and meet with Hank the marid. The ocean creature is impressed with their preparations, and explains the hunt that night is going after a trio of dangerous creatures without any natural predators and are growing unchecked as they deplete the local fish population. Freely, Sofieus and Avren are able to eat the pon without any ill effects, and the group head into the water. Hank is enchanted with Cally as he’s never seen a construct before, and they share some friendly conversation before reaching their quarry. Cally and Hank sneak forward to study three large plesiosaurs type creatures, moving very fast with tremendous reach of their giant maws and working together to hunt a school of fish as a pack. Armed with information about these beasts, Cally and Hank move into a hidden flanking position as Freely approaches to try and use animal friendship to charm them. However the beasts resist the effects and attack! The fight is ferocious and the creatures bite down on Avren so hard that his armor starts to crack and flake off!

The epic battle with the three plesiosaurs continues, eventually ending in the death of two of the creatures. However the third is encouraged to turn and flee, hiding in the coral, and Freely convinces the group to take pity on the beast and spare its life. It seems to understand and appreciate the gesture. A search of the area reveals a massive clam that Freely claims, and the two cascaras are dragged to shore so they all can collect meat and hide for later use. Hank is impressed with everyone's performance, and with how eager Cally is to learn from his experience. Discussing the oncoming massive monster, Hank thinks they have several weeks before it will arrive so they have time to come up with a plan and prepare defenses. Sofieus shows Hank the weed they use to breathe underwater and he knows where more can be collected for the next time. Cally promises to come visit the waters edge on a regular basis to check in with Hank, and both look forward to having some regular chats to learn more about each other.
Back at the Inn the group encounter Bonnie looking worried, having just met up with Sally, but when Freely asks if she needs anything she brushes it off as a family matter. After securing the meat safely, they open the clam to find a naturally occurring beautiful black pearl. Exhausted but overall pleased with the day's events, everyone heads to bed. The next morning Cally is disturbed to discover her book has continued to act strangely, still no message from either her Father or the other being that wrote to her, and the blot of ink has continued to spread in spider web like patterns. She asks for help from her friends, explaining the magic in the book was created by her Father as a way to keep in communication while she traveled to the surface. However she has not received a message in four days, and the recent strange experiences have left her troubled. Avren sets to work examining the book, but determines that everything is functioning as normal, which means something must be wrong with her Dad.
It took Cally four days to reach the surface when she left home, taking an expeditious route as the trip was dangerous. Avren, Sofieus, and Freely are quick to offer their help in heading to rescue her Dad, and the four quickly prepare for the journey.

As the group prepares to leave for the Underdark, Cally asks Milly for a favor. Since she will miss her meeting with Hank, she asks the dwarf to come to the water's edge and pass along a note of apology to their new marid friend. Milly is happy to help despite her nerves. Avren has made some very noticeable changes, leaving behind his artificer armor and switching to lighter leathers and cleric abilities. Beyond Milly and Daisy, no one else is warned that the group is leaving just in case enemies of the town find out and think it’s the perfect time to strike.
As Cally leads everyone out of town and towards the path she used when making her way to the surface, they come across a group of fishermen trying to corral some gigantic crabs into cages. However Daisy has helped the crabs burst out of the cages and is riding off on one as a mount! After helping defend the villagers from the released crabs, either by killing the creatures or driving them off, they find out Daisy selfishly released the crabs so she could take one as a friend. Avren does his best to teach her to be better about her antics to keep other people safe, and promises to get her a giant spider from the Underdark if she is good. She insists that she’s fine but looks a little green and winded, and while they can’t determine exactly what is wrong, Avren uses his newer cleric powers to cure her illness. Freely tries to convince her to help protect the town while they are gone, and eventually she heads off with a promise to be a defender of the town.
After Sofieus gathers crab legs to save for later, the group continues further down the beach, Eventually they find the sea cave that is the entrance of the caves leading down into the ground. With some magical assistance to be stealthy and some dim light from Freely’s sword and the hooded lantern they start to head into the Underdark.

The group take a short rest before heading into the sea cave that starts the journey underground. With as much care and stealth as possible they head inside and down, with Cally in the lead as she retraces her path back to her home and Freely marking the walls with their passage. They manage to navigate a treacherous bridge over a very deep underground chasm with a mix of planning, mending, acrobatics, and a giant constructed crab leg. Thanks to Cally’s psychic link the group enjoy a conversation about hot dogs while continuing to stealthy head deep underground.
Out from her bag Sofieus pulls out Sir Bsswalot (Sir Barney Slimey Wriggles Alot Ted), a baby purple worm, which draws the attention of a giant mole looking to eat it! They scare off the mole, and eventually meet up with an old gnome named Blink who has trained a group of tracking moles to hunt down flail snails. He’s lost his two lead moles, and offers to give the group a ride on his sled if they will help find them. With a mixture of replicating the smell of the purple worm and casting animal friendship, Freely and Sofieus are able to coax the moles out. Following the trails leads Freely into a larger cavern with several of the massive flail snails who start to converge, even as his friends rush to back him up as the fight with the snails begins!

The frackas with the flail snails become frantic, with the heroes managing to defeat them all thanks to a combination of teamwork and coordinating cave-ins! Everyone is tired and injured, but Blink is grateful for their assistance and offers them shelter for the evening at his home. They collect the flail snail meat and shells, and return to Blink’s home that doubles as a tourist destination and stable for his giant moles. Blink has crafted quite a few trinkets and magic items using things he has scavenged and created. The group trade some of their shells for a bottle of universal solvent and a set of goggles of night. They also commission Blink to work on a robe of scintillating colors that they pick up when he’s done crafting.
The stables are made into makeshift beds and all four are grateful to bed down for a long rest.

The next morning Cally checks on the book that communicates with her Father, only to find the spider webbing of the ink has continued. Over breakfast the group talk about the strange dreams Freely and Sofieus had, as well as a trading outpost that Blink knows about that might have more information. After some mishaps with the mole sled, the group arrive at the Polam Outpost, one of the last places to stock up before going into the dangerous parts of the Underdark. Very quickly they learn that the Svirfneblin settlement was attacked, as many shady folk were selling scavenged parts from the town and whole groups of people have been vanishing.
Freely finds a half elf with a spider tattoo on her neck named Spice, and tries to negotiate hiring her services. She’s willing to help guide to the Svirfneblin town and fight whatever is there in return for help with a problem with a magical chest she cannot open. She relays that the town was rumored to be attacked by a spider cult, possibly connected to Lolth. Cally remembers that there is a deep gnome trader named Tobias who frequents this outpost, and finding him she learns that he fled from the attack a few days ago. As Sofieus steals all of his gaudy robes, he draws Cally a map to get her back to her hometown before the end of the day. With more information and directions, the group decide not to hire Spice however Freely tells her that if they don’t return in a few days that he will pay well for a rescue party. Later he realizes that she has stolen the large black pearl out of the hidden slot in his mechanical hand.
After saying goodbye to Blink and asking him to return to the Polam Outpost in two days, Avren negotiates for some mechanical carts the group uses to follow the map. Eventually they have to leave the carts behind as they move through a large cave filled with bats, and Cally is overjoyed to discover her pet Chauve has found safety among the other bats! Avren heals the giant bat’s injuries as Cally dotes on her pet, and as they are distracted Freely sneaks forward into the Svirfneblin town.

Freely sneaks ahead into Cally’s hometown to discover it’s eerily quiet, only finding one older gnome shuffling down the street and a small family having dinner in their home, along with some broken carts and small signs of battle but no major destruction or bodies. After telling Chauve to stay in the cave with the rest of the bats, Cally sneaks in and recognizes Marco, an old friend of her Father, and he ushers them into the basement of his house to explain the situation. He explains that a few days ago an elven woman named Nellie arrived in town, peddling beautiful flowers that made a strange tea. The flower tea was the craze all over town, but it caused anyone who drank to blindly follow Nellie. During the day they are in a strange daze, and at night they line up and march out of town with shovels digging holes looking for what they call ‘motes of power’. Those that didn’t drink the tea were forced into indentured service or disappeared. Cally’s father, Sherman, tried to lead a resistance movement but was unsuccessful and he was taken away.
The group stealthily go to the edge of town where Nellie has built a large greenhouse filled with dangerous sentient plants. Sofieus destroys most of the plants with a flaming sphere, as Freely and Cally sneak in the front door and slaughter Nellie before she can react. Avren heals her before she can die to try and get some answers, but when she doesn’t immediately answer Cally’s questions, the construct quickly kills her. A search of the home only reveals a magical watering can, but inside Nellie’s pocket Cally discovers a beautiful blue and purple star lily that is some kind of magical object that charms her, but sensing the enchantment on the flower Avren breaks the charm with a dispel magic.
As Avren and Sofieus are briefly distracted as they discover their purple worm pet has died in the bag of holding, Freely puts the flower in a glass container for safe keeping. Marco arrives with his basset hound Ferdinand, hoping to track where Sherman may have been taken. Cally holds out the book her Father created so Ferdinand can smell it, and picking up the scent they all take off!

The group follows the trail to a salt cavern where the town cooks flat bread inside large kilns. It’s quickly discovered that Cally’s father, Sherman, is trapped in a cage inside one of the kilns, alive and OK thanks to his own ingenuity. They rescue him, as well as a small scout druid named C2D2 he created that Cally is overjoyed to learn is her new sister. Sherman explains that there’s a whole grove of the purple flowers deeper in the cave, and breathing in the spores helps take over people’s minds. But he’s discovered that once you’ve shaken off the mind control it won’t work again, and was imprisoned here when his revolt failed and he was captured. Whatever is behind the mind control has been searching for something, sending the transfixed townsfolk out with digging implements to search for something.
Sofieus takes a sip from the butter and flower mixture, feeling taken over by the voice from the flower. She is pulled through the tunnels towards the voice, her friends following close behind, but after a while Avren uses lesser restoration to snap her out of her control so they can retreat and rest before confronting whoever is involved.
Back at the Zaffrab house, C2D2 gets some repairs as the rest settle in to rest and recover from the day. Avren attempts to revive Sir Bsswalot with a combination of life transference, a health potion, and cattle prod, but when that fails he uses sending to contact Orkira and ask the cleric to come visit and help. When C2D2 shows off her food intake port, Cally is upset that her sister has a way to eat as she has always missed the chance to consume food. As she realizes that C2D2 was actually online before she left on her mission, she confronts her father. Sherman admits he was worried about being alone, and didn’t want Cally to feel like she was being replaced, so he kept her sister a secret while she was preparing to go on her mission. Cally reassures him that she is happy to have more family, and they reaffirm how much they love each other.
As Cally teaches her sister how to enter sentry mode, the whole group beds down for a long rest.

“If you’d given me tear ducts I’d be crying too!” - Cally
The next morning everyone wakes up, recovered during their long rest, except for Avren who suddenly slumps over dead! Freely and Cally are confused and upset, but Sofieus explains that everything is fine. Using a custom clockwork defibrillator and a special potion she is able to revive Avren, but he’s now taken on a pale appearance with red eyes, and no longer needs to breath or have a heartbeat though he is not undead.
The town is eerily quiet, as if none of the townsfolk returned from digging overnight. The group take C2D2, now upgraded with better parts and spider bombs, and head back in the direction they think the creature responsible is hiding. Scouting ahead, Freely finds an injured woman sitting on the ground. She’s broken the hold on her mind from the creature when she fell and was knocked out, and warns the group that whatever is mind controlling the deep gnomes has called them all to her lair. It’s further down the tunnel, in a room of thick air filled with pollen and humidity. Everyone is worried about Freely as he is the only one who is not immune to the flower’s mind control, so plans are made for C2D2 to shock him if he is taken over.
Sofieus records the sound of locust onto one of her peaches and uses it as a lure to bring several more controlled Svirfneblin out of the lair, and the four are quickly knocked out to break the mind control. As they are dragged to safety, Freely questions one of them and gets the description of the creature as a giant spider made of flowers. Cally sneaks ahead into the lair to examine the room and inform her friends through the psychic link all the details. There’s a large egg structure with two dazed deep gnomes standing guard, and a wood cage containing several more who are unconscious. But she cannot see the spider anywhere, so Freely and Avren announce their entrance in the hope of luring the creature out to talk with them. The spider appears before them, excited about the idea of getting help from surface dwellers to get out of the Underdark. As soon as the huge creature appears Cally immediately attacks and sets the battle in motion! It’s a fearsome few seconds filled with acid and horrific spider parts, but our heroes are victorious and kill her! She bursts into aphids and the mind controlling miasma dissipates.
Having saved all of the villagers the group return to Sherman Zaffrab’s house, where just as everyone is starting to relax the familiar voice of Spicy the mercenary from the Polam Outpost arrives calling out to Freely for help.
Miles away, back on the surface, Daisy sits on the side of a river crying. A stranger appears, asking her why she’s upset, and Daisy replies that she’s no longer connected to Avren and is losing some of her power. The stranger offers her power, but the goblin will not accept because she’s a stranger, so instead she offers a gift exchange so they will no longer be strangers.

Exhausted from the day, the group rests for the night as Spice leaves a note behind with instructions on where to meet her. The next morning Freely reads the note to find directions and the chance to join a unique business opportunity. Sherman has collected 200 gold from the town to give as thanks for saving them, and has created a beautiful custom birdhouse as a personal present. As they prepare to leave Cally informs everyone that she will not be joining them as she intends to stay with her Father. She wants to make sure the town recovers from the recent issues, get to know her sister better, and get the food processor installed so she can finally taste food. She’s grateful for the friendship she’s formed with Avren, Sofieus, and Freely, and gives them one of the linked books so they can continue to communicate. With some final instructions to thank Millie for her help and to send Hank her regards, Cally gives each of them a hug before they head out of town.
Meeting up with Spice she informs them that she needs their help collecting valuable chunks from a meteoroid that just crashed into a nearby cave. There’s a dangerous worm that is drawn to shiny rocks, and she needs assistance dealing with the worm as they grab pieces. Heading into the cave they find the crashed meteoroid dug into the ground where it crashed, discovering that inside of the rock is a metal sphere that’s a spaceship of some sort.
Inside the spaceship are three figures; Alyndra, Penelope, and Orkira are frantically trying to find a way to escape as the pod is starting to melt from the heat. As Penelope and Orkira struggle to open the hatch, Alyndra can see out the porthole and recognizes Freely! She is able to misty step outside, and through everyone’s joy at seeing old friends and family the group start to work on prying open the sphere. Orkira uses burning hands to make the door melt faster, Freely smites the softened metal, and Sofieus uses her eldritch cannon to finally break the pod open. But before the druid and cleric can escape, the giant metal worm appears and grabs the meteoroid! As it rolls along, Penelope casts erupting earth to wedge the ball in place as Freely distracts the worm away. Penelope and Orkira are able to escape the sphere and join their friends, as Spice collects a few chunks of meteor and runs away. The reunited family manage to destroy the massive metal worm!

There is a wonderful reunion between Freely, Avren, Orkira, Penelope, Sofieus, and Alyndra! Freely and Sofieus give a summary of where they are and what they are up to, Orkira confirms that Avren isn’t actually undead, and Sofieus transforms Sir Bsswalot into a new Homunculus that is alive but resembles a gnome sized purple tentacle monster. The three newcomers are sad to realize that they’ve lost some of their powers, and Freely assures them that he’s learned through experience that it will slowly come back. The group scavenge four chunks of the valuable meteorite and meet up with Spice, who thanks them for the help and tells them all about the Twilight Pool Fair celebrating the giant increase in bioluminescent krill that happens every ten years. Everyone is excited for some relaxation and good food, so they head for the festival.
The Twilight Pool Fair is a massive festival with food carts, entertainers, games, prizes, music, dancing, and a sense of joy that excites everyone! Alyndra is enraptured by all the performers, spending time patronizing everyone from acrobats to musicians. Avren and Sofieus enjoy a dance at the mead tent before taking a turn on the jousting field, Penelope and Freely brave the House of Terrors, and Alyndra and Orkira guess flavors as they sample truffles and coffee. The whole group visits the fortune teller tent and get vague but fun readings from Vonda. Freely gets promises of potential love, Penelope learns how to turn into a giant mole, but Sofieus’ mind is too chaotic and some meditation is recommended. Vonda tells them about the event happening later, the Turtle Trot, where people assist the offspring of an ancient turtle by moving the spawn to a better location, and how this event only happens once every ten years. She would participate but the turtles are heavy, and now that her husband has passed away she doesn’t have someone to help. Orkira offers to carry a turtle with Vonda, and she’s pleased to close up shop and join them. On the way to the turtles they stop by the prize tent, and everyone is excited at the possibilities of what they can get, making plans on how to win more tickets after they are done carrying turtles.

Our heroes arrive where the turtles are spawning and join the Turtle Trot! Alyndra uses a floating disk to carry several turtles, Sofieus casts levitate on one for Avren to push, and Orkira, Penelope and Vonda team up to carry one. Vonda explains that it’s rare for predators to attack because of the help of the Fair, but warns that the stirg population has exploded recently so everyone should keep an eye out, so Freely takes up a sentry position to look out for danger. As the marathon continues he notices a large swarm of stirges near the route, and attacks with an eldritch blast to lead them away from the turtles. The rest of the group are able to catch up and join the fight to destroy the swarm before any turtles can be harmed or Freely can be sucked dry.
Penelope uses her beast bond to chat with the turtles before they are delivered safely to the water, and Vonda thanks her and Orkira for helping her on the Turtle Trot. The fortune teller shows them the grand marble statue of the mother turtle that many people hug or kiss at the end to receive the fabled good luck. No one has seen the real mother in a long time because something has disturbed the waters recently, and Freely is worried that the legendary underwater creature that is arriving outside of Port Argent soon is the reason. Alyndra gets a sketch of the statue in her book, and she realizes many people believe this creature represents a deity of wealth in all forms; character, integrity, fortune, and more. Some warriors have even left their swords as offerings, inspiring Avren to also offer up his greatsword and offer up his assistance. Sofieus leaves some apple tarts, and Penelope gives the statue a huge hug and gives her love. Orkira offers the statue her help as well as the help of her Phoenix God. Avren is suddenly touched by the ancient mind of this deity, giving him a call to the ocean and asking for assistance.
As Freely explains what has been happening in Port Argent, Vonda says she might know of a quicker way to the surface, and Orkira heads off with her to find out details. Meanwhile the rest of the group finish playing some of the Fair games and relaxing. Sofieus turns invisible to steal the creepy doll for her husband, leaving behind several gold Avren coins in payment. Avren uses his immunity to being frightened to make it completely through the House of Terrors, while Penelope is blessed by Alyndra and inspired by Freely so she wins big at the ring toss game. They are able to collect enough tickets to win Bertrand the stuffed elephant in triumph!

“Everyone knows halfling have awesome calves! It’s because of our feet structure!” - Freely
“I don’t care about the battle, I want to talk to the turtles!” - Penelope
“You’re seeing somebody?! Who?!” “No I’m not seeing anyone. I mean who wants to...no, I just use Sending to contact you and things like that!” “First of all you are a beautiful, astonishing, scaly Goddess of a creature! You stop that!” - Freely and Orkira
“The world needs heroes, and heroes need a creepy ass doll.” - Avren
“I’m gonna go and find out all the details about our...extreme sports?” “Extreme experiences is what they call them.” “I’ve had a lot of those, so you’re going to have to define ‘extreme’.” - Orkira and Vonda
“I will call him Rend.” “I have heard this name before.” “And you will again.” - Avren and Sofieus
Freely spends some time seaking out Spice, flirting with her a bit before making a trade of some of the meteor chunks for one of her custom weapons. He invites her to join them, and she says she will consider paying him a visit on the surface. Vonda explains to Orkira about these two thrill seekers named Nickel and Brick who have some way to parachute to the surface quickly, while Orkira fills her in on the dangers she’s been told await at Port Argent. Avren admits that he hates heights and flying, but Sofieus reassures him that he can stay in the bag of holding during the trip since he doesn’t need to breathe. Freely finds Penelope enjoying the fair with her stuffed elephant, and after studying her new toy for a while she realizes she can wild shape into a full sized plushie elephant.
As the group exit the Fairgrounds, as soon as they pass through the main gates the creepy doll Sofieus and Avren stole from the ticket vendor comes to life! It starts to shriek about being cursed, calling Avren a thief, and biting into his neck! The wound forms letters on his forehead spelling out “THIEF”, and the doll announces it’s name is Machete and wants to steal Avren’s teeth, angrily announcing how it wants to bring death and destruction. Orkira attempts to remove the curse and feels resistance, and is able to feel that she can remove the curse without exorcising the doll but it will be difficult. Alyndra thinks she can help by casting identify and finding more detailed information, and when done discovers much of the talking doll’s history including the original owner; a young girl named Alice who is local to the Underground who both loved it and then replaces many of the broken parts which explains why it’s so creepy looking. The group is split on what to do, so Sofieus casts reduce on the doll and places her inside the bag of holding for safekeeping.
They find Nickel and Brick, who explain that the extreme experience is riding the blowhole exhalation of a giant whale up a shaft to the surface. The parachute will deploy once above the surface and let them safely land on the beach. However there’s some danger of crashing into the rocks or being pulled into the ocean. Avren immediately crawls into the bag of holding, rather spending time with Machete trying to attack him than going flying. The rest of the group are outfitted with helmets and parachutes, except for Orkira with her wings, and everyone is pushed into the jet stream of water and thrust up through the rock and into the sky. The view is incredible, but Sofieus and Freely don’t have the constitution for the rough ride and flounder in the air. Orkira helps Sofieus to safety, while Sofieus casts levitate and Alyndra casts feather fall, and eventually the entire group land on the beach mostly safe.
Heading back to Port Argent the new members of the group are introduced to Milly. She lets them know that Daisy and her mother had to leave, though Daisy has been trying to both help around town all while stealing what she can. She also let Hank the Marid know about the trip the group took, and everyone heads to find a place to rest so they can be up later for a visit.

Avren and Sofieus are called to an emergency council meeting, leaving Freely to fill in the others with details on what has been happening in and around Port Argent over the last few weeks. They consider the information they have as they head to Salame’s office, but stop at a local florist to pick up a bouquet to help make a good impression. The florist informs them about how there’s a big display on the dock for the festival celebrating the new war boat that was recently commissioned. The boat is called Falva’s Breath, and was created on orders of the council to help fight the sea serpent that is coming.
At the Inn, the bartender informs the group that Salame had to go to her workshop outside of town because she had an explosion in the office. Freely and Alyndra head upstairs to check on Freely’s room and sneak a look through holes in the wall into Salame’s office. Penelope enjoys arranging the flowers with special bugs from her cloak, while Orkira distracts the bartender as he is fascinated by her looking like a dragon. Using clairvoyance, Alyndra is able to look inside the office to see that Salame was working on how to contain a very powerful energy source, plans for some sort of vehicle, and a huge interest in myths and legends, especially about the collection and study of strange and unique creatures. The group enjoy a short rest and some drinks before heading out of town.
They arrive at Salame’s lab, a huge barn on a plot of farmland, to find Salame injured while working on her invention. As Orkira removes the shrapnel from her leg and heals the damage, Salame explains how she’s been building an epic submersible for them to use. She’s having issues with the engine, figuring out how to power it safely, and now believes her old rivals, Mizna and Nazrick, are about to show up and steal it all from her. As Alyndra gathers up all the notes for safekeeping, Orkira heads outside to fly around looking for oncoming trouble and finds two rough looking individuals trying to catch up to “the boss”. As she tries to distract and dissuade the two thugs, the twin half-elves of Mizna and Nazrick arrive at the barn and demand the engine. Despite their fabulous purple outfits and fancy poses, they are quickly defeated in battle. They admit that they have informants in town who passed along information that Salame was working on something, and simply because they are rivals they came to steal it. It’s obvious the twins and Salame detest each other, and the rivalry has been going on for a while.

The antagonism between Sally and the twins until Penelope is finally able to convince them to work together on the project to help try and save Port Argent from the oncoming attack. The four head back to town and meet up with Sofieus and Avren, who are with the rest of the town council looking over the crane shaped war boat called Falva’s Breath. There isn’t much confidence due to the birchwood construction, lack of crew, and lack of experience sailing anything but a small fishing dinghy. Sofieus offers her Eldritch Cannons, Avren suggests some of the townsfolk help harvest flail snails to use the shells for armor, and Alyndra requests some mythology books to help do more research on the creature.
Everyone heads off to take a long rest so they can get up late that night, and meet up at the Night Cap Inn for dinner and talk over their suspicions of who might be working with the enemy on the town council. When Sofieus asks Orkira to cast Zone of Truth, it inspires Avren to admit that Port Argent was the town he grew up in. All the troubles started when he and Sofieus tried to retire there recently, and there might be people from his past who hate him and would like to destroy the town, but he doesn’t know for sure. Freely uses the Zone of Truth to ask all those in the Inn if anyone has an idea of who in the town might want it destroyed. They learn from Jonathan Crigsby, one of the townsfolk, that the clerical order that Wendy is part of many years ago kicked someone out of the town who did something horrible, but there’s a lot of details missing. The order does a lot of social work, raising money for orphanages, schools and other public structures. They wear a lightning bolt symbol, and have a central location nearby called the Abbey of Enlightenment.
At midnight the group heads to the ocean’s edge to meet up with Hank the marid. He is sad to hear that Cally has stayed in the Underdark, taking the note she wrote to him, but greets everyone kindly. Thanks to Alyndra’s comprehend languages, and the fact that she and Avren can both speak primordial, they are able to start to catch up.
Quotes:
“Didn’t we win? Can’t you go away now? I’m tired.” - Orkira
“When you want to say something mean about them, just say something nice instead.” - Penelope
“Alright, work well together or we’re gonna come back and kill you all!” - Freely
“Can you warp wood?” “No. It’s amazing that druids can control everything EXCEPT for wood.” - Avren and Penelope
“Would you like some brains?” “Ohh brains!” - Sofieus and Avren
“I would let you know if I was going to kill you way ahead of time, just out of ego.” - Avren
“I’ve always wanted to be a tree!” - Sofieus
“It’s very pretty, but it’s not the kind of thing you go to war with.” “I’m very pretty and I’m the type of thing you go to war with.” “Yeah, but not everything that’s pretty goes to war, and not everything that goes to war is pretty. That’s pretty. YOU are both!” - Orkira and Freely
“Zone of Belief!” - Todd
“Penelope, do you speak fish?” “Just that one time!” - Orkira and Penelope
The group has a long talk with Hank the marid about Krunsalla and potential options they have for dealing with the oncoming threat. He believes the creature is still 2 weeks away, describing it as a monstrously huge beast with a maw that devours everything in its path. No one has ever been able to talk to it, but the group wonders if they might lure it into the underground cave where they can trap it. Avren tries to communicate with Nellies, the Mother Turtle Goddess that reached out to him while in the underdark, but does not get a response. Hank explains that she is the Goddess of redemption, and he might know how to contact her. Alyndra wants to do some research with the older texts the marids have, and Hank thinks she could talk to his grandmother about old stories, so he promises to ask about bringing a guest to their great halls, but they will need to bring a shiny gift to give to her. They all agree to reconvene in two days to discuss what progress has been made, and Hank heads back into the ocean.
Avren and Penelope head into the mine to meet up with Grumble, the rock elemental that lives there. They explain what’s going on with Krunsalla, and between Penelope creating an excellent 3D map out of dirt and Avren’s persuasion skills the elemental offers to gather their friends and help. Orkira prays to the Phoenix, getting the feeling that helping the Turtle Goddess is a good thing, and an uneasy sensation when thinking about Krunsalla.
The next morning as Sofieus and Orkira chat about food, Avren and Freely fight over Machete. Avren manages to pull the dolls arms off and replace them with parts of a scissor, creating knife arms. The cursed doll has become friends with Freely, bonding as they make fun of Avren, and stays with him as they all head to the Abbey of Enlightenment. They talk to Daisy, who tells them about how she lost all her powers from Avren but a beautiful stranger gave her even more power, and while she won’t say her patrons name she uses a minor illusion to conjure a picture of the stranger, but no one recognizes her. Daisy is happy to meet everyone, though Alyndra is upset by this turn of events. The group talk to Wendy about a person from the past who was kicked out of the Abbey of Enlightenment, and she promises to look up some of the records about the event, but remembers that they were Avren’s rival.
Quotes:
“Sir Bsswalot is also overly caffeinated and Sir Bsswalot is also offering free mind readings today if anybody is interested!” - Sofieus
“Let me put this in a way that Avren would understand. You’re not asking the turtle for help, the turtle asked YOU for help! So you need to talk to the turtle so you can collect.” - Freely
“You’re a rock, you’re consistent! You probably know time better than I do!” - Avren
“Listen, I spent 5 years living on the side of a volcano, I’m not that picky.” - Orkira
Wendy remembers the half-elf that used to be Avren’s rival, perhaps named Lidia, was a child with Avren in school, and when they were young Avren ruined her science fair project with a prank. Later when Lidia grew up and was experimenting with forbidden necromantic magic she was expelled from the order and left. When shown a minor illusion of the weredial they fought, Wendy recognizes some of the construction as things that Lidia was doing with her magic. The group wonders how the mine is connected, so Sofieus sends Sir Bsswalot flying there to try and get inside.
Freely shows off a minor illusion of the woman that gave Daisy power, but it’s not someone Wendy recognizes. The order that Wendy belongs to are clerics that worship community, healing and service, not something that appeals to Daisy who’s more interested in building things and running wild. Penelope finds Daisy to chat, hoping to find more information about whoever has given her power. Daisy shows off her ability to speak to animals and hide, but also releases all the bulls from the pen and causes a stampede! The group scramble to stop the bulls without hurting them or any of the Abby members, and safely manage to corral them back into their pen using various means and magic. Avren, Sofieus are able to convince Daisy to come out of hiding, and Alyndra convinces the child to help clean up the mess and put all the animals away.
Daisy gives Freely a small crochet doll that has the encoded memory of her meeting her new patron. Freely gives her the scale from Orkira he’s had in exchange, saying it will keep her safe. Sofieus considers making Daisy a junior honorary council member to give her an outlet, but Alyndra suggests that as if she behaves for a week they’ll take her to the circus and get her lessons with some of the acts. As the sun sets, she’s returned to her Mom as the group heads back to town.

“You put the hippo in hypocrite!” - Daisy
“I believe that people can change and grow and learn. And if I believe that about most people, then I have to believe that about Avren.” - Alyndra

Summary:

Summary:

Summary:

Summary:

“Are we cooking these now?”
“I’m not cooking them, I’m just trying to solve the problem the only way I know how!” - Cally and Sofieus

“We’re not killing the people, but I’d rather not kill the crabs! The crabs didn’t do anything?”
“Well no, but we kill things all the time that are not doing anything.”
“Yeah I kill things all the time that do things!” - Cally and Avren

Summary:

Summary:

Summary:

Ep 15 Sickened But Intrigued
Watch the full episode on YouTube! https://youtu.be/oKT92_WBTrM
Summary:

Ep 16 Stop Embarrassing Us In Public
Watch the full episode on YouTube! https://youtu.be/ihr8RfgOjsU
Summary:

“Yeah, that tracks.” - Cally and Avren

“Why?”
“Because it will be better for your software processes to not have to compute that many irregularities.” - Cally and C2D2
“Your flesh will eventually betray you.” - C2D2

Ep 17 Small Town Heroes
Watch the full episode on YouTube! https://youtu.be/WvPsiTmc4Gs
Summary:

Summary:

Summary:

Summary:

Summary:
Quotes:
“Town’s going to war with an unkillable sea serpent, great.” - Freely
“I kinda appreciate the fact that they made a war boat look really pretty.”
“Some of us can be both beautiful and lethal.” - Freely and Orkira
“You figure they’d have an ‘Only You Can Prevent Religious Fires’ sign when it’s forbidden!” - Alyndra
“You know I’ve been traveling around so much, and I’m just kinda used to it, so I’m used to being weird everywhere.” - Orkira
“Let me introduce my friends! We’ve got Penelope, the sweetest, fiercest halfling around! Even more than me! Orkira, the strongest and wisest of all dragonborn! And Alyndra, the smartest and most powerful of all elven sorcerers!” - Freely
“Were you really building a poop-marine for us?” - Freely
“This isn’t her somatic casting, it’s flair.” - Jasmine
“Get out of my lab! Get off of my ship! Get away from my engine!” - Salame
“If we let you go, are you just going to come back and try this again when we’re not here?”
“Well not right away!” - Mizna and Penelope

Summary:
“Can you warp wood?”
“No. It’s amazing that druids can control everything EXCEPT for wood.” - Avren and Penelope
“Would you like some brains?”
“Ohh brains!” - Sofieus and Avren
“I would let you know if I was going to kill you way ahead of time, just out of ego.” - Avren
“I’ve always wanted to be a tree!” - Sofieus
“It’s very pretty, but it’s not the kind of thing you go to war with.”
“I’m very pretty and I’m the type of thing you go to war with.”
“Yeah, but not everything that’s pretty goes to war, and not everything that goes to war is pretty. That’s pretty. YOU are both!” - Orkira and Freely
“Zone of Belief!” - Todd
“Penelope, do you speak fish?”
“Just that one time!” - Orkira and Penelope

Summary:
“Two curses don’t make a blessing.” - Alyndra
“You’re not my manager anymore!” - Daisy

Summary:
Quotes:
“Out of all of my favorite shortcomings, you are mine, Freely.” - Avren
“I thought it was natural chocolate, like nature chocolate! It was not!” - Daisy
“Oh PEACHES!” - Daisy
“Well I only have explosives and butter.” - Sofieus
“That’s future Freely’s problem.”
“Later problem, later problem.” - Freely and Orkira
“Do you want your Mom to be alone?”
“No. I don’t want my Mom to be alone.”
“No one does.” - Avren and Daisy
“You put the hippo in hypocrite!” - Daisy
“I believe that people can change and grow and learn. And if I believe that about most people, then I have to believe that about Avren.” - Alyndra
