There are three main campaigns. Masters which is Candlekeep Mysteries and some other modules. Season which currently is Icewind Dale Season 10. And historical which is all the old seasons and all the CCC modules. Each has some restrictions. See the following for more details. Organized Play | Dungeons & Dragons (wizards.com)

in my experience, the adoption of the rules are up to the table. i haven't found a table yet that strictly follows them (except maybe for character creation just so everyone starts out fairly balanced). I'd find a group first, then decide how strictly to follow the rules. The rules (imo) are really just intended to keep OP players to a minimum as no one has fun if one player is sucking up all the action and everyone else is just twiddling their thumbs (especially the less experienced - they don't come back when that happens).

Hey! I just finished building my character. How do I find a campaign to join?
You want in person or online?
