So, I have 20 years experience with home based D&D games, but have only been playing AL for about a month now. Most of my questions i have found an answer to by scouring the interwebs, but this one I cannot seem to find a definitive answer to. I know you CAN'T buy permanent magic items between sessions, and I know you CAN buy normal equipment. What about potions and scrolls? I have found several places that say you can keep consumables between adventures, but none that say where in s10 Masters you can actually get them. Currently been running Candlekeep stuff and am a lvl 6 Artificer and my wife is a lvl 6 Barb and a few buffy potions or scrolls would be a super fun addition to how we play.
Thanks guys for any help you can give in pointing me at some guidelines or rules on this stuff. :)
That's what i got from my searching. That it was supposed to be talked about and then didn't. Dang, okay. Welp, guess i get to use these downtime days and my proficiency in alchemist tools finally, lol.
However, if you are playing Candlekeep stuff that is Masters and NOT Season 10. In fact you can't go back and play Season 10 modules with those characters at all now since they are officially Masters campaign characters after playing Candlekeep.
"Between sessions, your character can sell or buy equipment and spell components using the rules found in the PH."
Potion of Healing is the only potion listed in the PH so it is the only one available for purchase using the PH rules.
The "official" word for other potions and scrolls from AL admins is
"Use the "Buyng and Selling" tables (XGE appendix A "Shared Campaigns") for potions and scrolls. Note that the scroll costs are the cost of the scroll but you will still need any expensive components" al-rules-compedium D&D AL on Discord.
Ello friends!

Varies a bit depending on AL season.
In season 10, you can start each adventure with a healing potion as a renown benefit (can't be accumulated over multiple adventures).
The FAQ also says that buying potions and scrolls was intentionally left out of the ALPG10 and that it would be mentioned in the ALDMG10. It was not.
Because of that, there is no way to buy consumables. They can be crafted using herbalism kits and downtime per XGtE.

This appears to apply to all campaigns.
