We are starting a new campaign with the 2024 rules. I'm wondering what feeds or abilities to get in order to have as high as possible of perception and investigation skills? I know that intelligence and wisdom play a factor but I'm wondering what other feats I need , to get the skill as high as possible.
It still exists but it gives either proficiency or expertise in one of the skills with expertise only available if you already have proficiency. So, a net one less proficiency compared to skill expert for the ability to take the search action as a bonus action.
Taking skill expert and getting proficiency in insight, perception, or investigation and getting expertise in Investigation will probably be the best way to do all the observing. Take guidance to top it off and you're set. If you take the Magician order you can easily make a skill monkey druid especially if you take a dip into rogue or ranger. I like a 3 level dip in ranger to make up for lost armor proficiency from choosing Magician, another skill proficiency, another expertise, and most importantly gloom stalker for that sweet initiative boost and invisibility while doing the observing thing.
I'm literally playing a similar build right now and I out skill our bard in everything but charisma checks. The gloom stalker dip makes a skill druid an insanely good infiltrator with wild shape.

The skill expert feat.
Okay, I did take skilled at first level and I will take skill expert at 4th.
Is OBSERVANT gone, or has it changed for 2024?

Okay, thanks! We should hit level 3 during our next game.
