Would a Spores Druid remain in the Symbiotic State if they recieved temp HP from an alternative source?
I know it doesn't stack but it's said you have to choose between the sources of temp HP.
So for example, gaining it fron killing an enemy in a multiclass like Long Death Monk or Fiend Warlock if the initial temp HP from the wild shape goes lower than the temp HP those options offer.
Would the spores druid remain in the symbiotic state from the top up or would it end due to being from a different source?
A very strict reading of the rules would say that it does end if you get other temporary HP, because it says it lasts "until you lose all thesetemporary hit points" (emphasis mine).
In practice, if I were DMing, I would never enforce that, for two reasons:
The 2024 rules have mostly gotten rid of effects that care which source temporary HP are from (see, for instance, the subtle change made to Armor of Agathys) and while Circle of Spores hasn't had a 2024 update (yet) it seems reasonable to imagine something similar might be done in a future update.
It's stupid.
