Stars druid is a blaster (all those free guiding bolts and the Archer starry form), not a melee fighter. Moon (beast forms) and Spores would work better. I take potent spellcasting with Stars but for Moon or Spores, primal Strike is a good option.
What starry form would use primal strike with? None of them are weapons or beast forms or aid with either.
Anything is "possible" but I don't see it coming online until later levels so the grind will be real
Magic initiate origin feat to get True Strike cantrip (wpn + 3d6 at lvl 17) Shilleleah to make your stick do 2d6 damage (17th) Foresight (9th slot) to get advantage on all attacks and saves etc Conjure minor elementals (9th slot) to get +7d8 Primal strike +2d8 19th level Epic Boon of Combat Prowess, once per turn if you miss then you hit, and as you only have 1 attack it always hits.
1 attack a round with advantage that always hits doing 5d6 + 9d8 damage + wis (avg 63 ish with Wis bonus +5), and resisting pierce/bludge/slash damage.
Can't say it compares with a straight fighter for dpm but you do have all that other stuff as well to play with like spells and class features.
AC is Med/Shld/+2 dex if you take the warden primal order.
Foodgeek said it. Stars is a blaster/ controller and very good at it( free guiding bolts for 4d6+1d8+5) is very serious and then all of your spells like ice knife, sleet storm, entangle, faerie fire, blight and call lightning and you are very set for damage and control

I wish they hadn't messed with spell sniper . its hard to use it with starry form archer now because of the way the reworded it and it seems needlessly punishing for features that are not spells. if it worked you could use it in melee . you could just bolster con and go dragon form but feels a little bad without archer.
You could do a hit-and-run style Druid by using Conjure Woodland Beings, running up to an enemy and bonking them with a Shillelagh-enhanced Club/Quarterstaff using True Strike, then using your Bonus Action to Disengage (thanks to Conjure Woodland Beings) and back away. If the enemy moves up to hit you, they will take the damage from Conjure Woodland Beings a second time per round. The Dragon option on your Starry Form would make your Concentration pretty solid, so you won't have to worry about losing your spell. It won't blow the ceiling off the damage charts, but it should be a pretty solid option.
Hey everyone!
I was wondering if it's realistically possible to build a melee Circle of the Stars Druid, either single-classed or with multiclassing.
Specifically, considering that i could use Primal Strike with Starry Forms, does that make a melee approach more viable than it looks at first glance?
Would it work to:
Just want to know if it can function well without falling behind too hard.
Would love to hear thoughts,

Wildshape into a combat form and go to town?
