Hi guys. my daughter want to play a wood elf moon druid. Her party consist of her druid, a war cleric, a wizard and a rogue trickster. She want to be upfront keeping the wiz and rogue as safe as possible.
At first I tought about giving her high str or high dex but since you use wildshapre str/dex I'm thinking this might be pointless.
If you guys have some build or general advice it would makes me happy since I've never played a druid and neither of my friends so I'm totaly clueless.
We tend to follow most DnD rules and I make low magic item world for our sessions till they reach end game (they are lucky if they can get a +1weapon and armor by lvl 6).
For a 5.5e Moon Druid, Wisdom and Constitution are more important than Strength or Dexterity. More Constitution gives you more Hit Points, and (while you're in Wild Shape) more Wisdom gives you more AC.
Moon Druids want to be doing most of their fighting while in Wild Shape, so when you're looking at choices like feats, look for things that are still helpful while you're in Wild Shape. Some good choices are Sentinel, Speedy, and War Caster. Also consider Crusher or Piercer depending on which type of damage your favorite beast form does.
Under the Primal Order make sure you take Warden as it will give you better armor and weapons options. Druids need Wisdom but you can put a little bit into DEX as it will help with your AC even though you use the AC of the Wild Shape. You could get hit before being able to shape shift. You can cast Cure Wounds in Wild Shape which is great to use now so she can heal her party when needed.
