I'm DMing a group of nine eleven year olds. Five elected to be druids, two are fighters, one is a cleric and one is a wizard. Is there any special guidance I should give to these players (who are all first time players) on how to structure their druids to handle this odd composition.
They’re 11, let them use their imagination. They’ll surprise you with how creative they are. I’d do slow advancement to give them time to learn the game and their characters abilities.
I am curios what there first animal shape will be? wolf?eagles?tigers?...?
a small list of diverse animal they can shapeshift would probably handy. You could keep the list incase they don't know what to tranform into or give out outside the game if they intrested what those animals do.
Goodluck when they know what all those conjure spells do, gonna be an animal army.
I don't think there's anything to concern yourself with. Highest stat wisdom, next con. That's pretty much it for a druid.
That said a set of cards with appropriate wild-shape options would be immensely helpful Palfatreos mentioned. These will also be helpful if they get to summon critters. For YOUR sake though you're going to want to figure out how to streamline spells like conjure animals. 5 Druids running around with their summoned armies is not only going to be a nightmare to balance encounters for, but also going to make turns in combat veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyy sssssslllllllloooooooowwwwwww.

Have any of them determined their subclass yet?
I have everyone starting at first class to minimize the spells I have to track. I assume that will soon change.
When I last played twenty five years ago it was way easier. Your choices were Fighter, Cleric, Rogue or Wizard.
