Hey all, I'm currently playing an 8th level Moon Druid with a party of 5 others (Arcane Archer Fighter, Wild Magic Sorcerer, Grave Cleric, Scout Rogue, Lore Bard) and have been having some trouble deciding the best uses for concentration in combat. Because of the party make up I tend to end up at the front soaking up as much damage as possible, it has now become the running joke of the party that I don't cast spells and I hoping to change that.
I used to start of by using Call Lightning/Moonbeam but we've been in situations lately where that's not that practical. My current thoughts are to either cast Faerie Fire/Entangle, or Elemental Weapon on the Arcane Archer's bow. Any thoughts on how I could best protect the squishier members of the party?
It shouldn't be too hard to find a concentration spell on the druid list :) Most of the time (with my a non-moon druid) I have the opposite problem: I'm concentrating on a spell but don't know what to be spending my actions on.
I've found that I like the summoning spells quite a bit. You are currently stuck at CR2 for your wildshape, you could have a doppelganger or a couple of other creatures - beasts, (insects up to CR3 with giant insect), fey, and elementals are all options. Sleet storm has its best value against enemy casters holding concentration.
First level options like faerie fire, entangle, and fog cloud are all decent options, but I tend to find myself not casting them often when I have access to higher level spells - they are too weak or offer too many saves. Second level provides some situational spells, but I like some such as heat metal, spike growth, flaming sphere and healing spirit (I'll admit that this one might be difficult to use preemptively as a moon druid). Wall of fire, polymorph are good fourth level options.

If you are looking to buff yourself, barkskin, stoneskin, protection from energy, or guardian of nature can be situationally useful. Many of the forms that you can take have quite paltry defenses.
