So I've been really wanting to play a spores druid that is build around shillelagh, polearm master and extra attack. With those prerequisites my only two options when it comes to multiclassing are fighters and rangers, specific subclasses that I've set my gaze upon are echo knight and gloomstalker with each of them offering a for on making an additional attack. Starting as a fighter and going with an echo knight would give me heavy armor and con saving throws proficiency which would greatly aid my survivability as well as a way of benefiting from symbiotic entity from a distance through echo attacks and a way of activating it on the first round through action surge making it last longer and a lot less clunky to use. On the other hand taking ranger levels is less impactful on my spell slot progression, I'll get couple of extra spells that I'll always have prepared, an expertise with gloomstalker giving me darkvison, better indicative and a strong offense on my first turn which would require me to activate the symbiotic entity before the fight. Any suggestions?
