This is a two to three hour adventure for four to six first level characters starting a new Spelljammer campaign. It is designed to be a springboard for new players to introduce their characters and come together as a team. The DM can use this adventure as a foundation for any new Spelljammer campaign or as a one-shot adventure. Upon completion of this adventure, the characters will advance to 2nd level and the DM will have a menu of ideas for a continued campaign.
The adventure begins with confusion, a ghostly warning and clouded memories as the players awaken from a deep sleep within an unfamiliar vessel – the Drastic Measures – adrift among the wreckage of a ship graveyard in deep space. They must work together to find their equipment, get the ship up and running, and defend themselves from oncoming pirates. A handful of oddball NPCs aids the players as they come to realize this is no ordinary ship. The DM will delight in answering such questions as why are the players here? Why were they in hibernation? Who built this ship, and why?
This publication has been play tested, professionally edited, and is richly illustrated with AI art from Midjourney. It includes a deck plan, suitable for VTT use, and statistics for a brand-new spelljamming ship, the Drastic Measures. Also included are monster and NPC stat blocks for convenience, and an appendix for determining the mysterious reasons why the characters find themselves aboard this unusual ship. This adventure assumes you already own the D&D core rulebooks and the Spelljammer: Adventures in Space boxed set.
Here is my latest adventure: The Mystery of Knacker's Hill: A Volo's Vetted Vendors Adventure! This is one of a series of adventures relating to the vendors found in both Volo's Vetted Vendors and Elminster's Excellent Establishments, set in the Forgotten Realms.
Return to the town of Phandalin and unravel the malevolent mysteries of Knacker's Knothole. A party of four to six 5th level characters meet Knacker, the ancient awakened grandfather oak, who was introduced in Volo’s Vetted Vendors. He has a request: one of his cherished death’s heads is missing and he implores the party to find out what happened to it. Although Knacker suspects the people of Phandalin, the party’s investigations ultimately reveal a much more sinister threat. The party must investigate the disappearance while an unseen foe attempts to thwart their efforts with ambushes and misdirection. It is not long before there are more disappearances, and the party must use its ingenuity to prevent open hostilities.
This adventure is ideally suited to a party that has just completed the Lost Mines of Phandelver. Or, purchase all four adventures in the Volo's and Elminster's Big Bundle of Adventure.
