I am running a new group through LMoP and came across something that I found confusing. Since I pre-build all of my encounters in the DDB encounter builder, the XP of each encounter is already calculated. In the LMoP book, the XP award for Wyvern Tor is 1250, but in the DDB encounter builder the XP award is 1150.
I tried looking up if this has been identified previously, but did not find anything.
I'm by no means an expert, But I think the difference is that in the encounter builder, the XP is calculated by adding up each monster's XP reward. Whereas the book has most likely given a more rounded amount of XP for the encounter, as the people who made the adventure probably thought more XP was more suitable.
So essentially, it's your choice, If I was you I'd probably go for the LMoP book's XP recommendation.
When I used the encounter builder, I only had Brughor Axe-Biter, 6 orcs, and the ogre. I did not take into account for the lone orc sentry outside the cave.

Which one is correct?

I may be wrong, but I hope this helped.
Thanks for the reply, but I found the answer.

Oh that makes more sense now, glad you found the answer.
