Been a DM for 3 years and I like to assess myself, generally, as Novice DM on the cusp of becoming an intermediate DM.
I need a little bit of assistance in interpreting some language in the Dungeon Master's Guide in regards to CHAPTER 7: TREASURE.
Specifically the treasure tables that include magic items as a column. For some results, the table indicates "roll 1d6 times on Magic Table X". If I'm interpreting the guidance here correctly, if I choose to roll for random magic items, I should be roll a d6 (or other die) first to determine how many items the treasure hoard includes.
Example: The players have defeated a Monster with a CR of 7. This monster had a treasure hoard that I will detemine by rolling a d100. I roll a 63, which means that the party gets 2d4 art objects worth 250GP and 1d4 rolls on Magic Table B. Is this correct? I find the wording a little confusing and I thought I would check in for some collective knowledge.
