I have it set to whisper for roll20 and that works perfectly. My campaign is linked to discord so I have a record of player rolls (I like to go back and look at how things flowed at times.) But my GM whisper rolls go to my discord channels now. I do not want to unlink the campaign. Any ideas?
Are you rolling on DnDbeyond? If so, look at the game log. In the top right corner is a drop down, who gets to see the rolls: Everyone/Self/Dungeon Master
Try changing that to Self or Dungeon Master, and check if that does anything for you.
If you do not specify a whisper channel, then the whisper setting will always be ignored when sending rolls to Discord. You can however specify a whisper channel using the command !beyond20 secret #public-channel whisper #whisper-channel. You can also have the rolls whispered to the Dungeon Master directly by mentioning their name instead, such as !beyond20 secret #rolls whisper @UsernameOfDM.
After the whisper setting, you can add extra options to the bot. The only currently supported option is nospoilers which will disable the Beyond20 bot from adding spoiler tags around the dice formulas. For example : !beyond20 secret #public-channel whisper #whisper-channel nospoilers.
If you are using avrae I'm unsure but you could always join their discord and ask there: https://support.avrae.io/
If using another option to link them let us know and maybe someone can help.
Their answer was to uninstall beyond20 as its a violation blah blah. Completely unhelpful and frankly they were rude. So I won’t be recording with discord
If using beyond20 they defintely wouldnt help. Avrae is owned by dndbeyond, beyond20 is not. I dont believe it to be any violation though just an unsupported 3rd party extension. Id like to know what they thought it was violating.
Click the spolier button in my above post and you'll see beyond20 instructions for whispers and a link for additional support with beyond20.
It sucks that they were rude and it put you off using things that make your game easier. Im not surprised though with some of the responses Ive seen on discord from staff/mods.

If you are using beyond20 to integrate it into discord check the spoiler tag.

You would think they would want you to switch to use their product and not be so rude. Customer service 101 class they missed.
