So just curious to the fellow DM's here if this seems like something that would intrigue you. Fragments of Abeir' Toril have broken off during the separation of the two and people on one of these continents (fragments of land) Iahavir, there has been the first ever discovery of Magic, which has changed the world forever as we know it. Elves initially started there but it was the men who brought the indifference, with this right and wrong was now conflict among all other elements in the world. Hot and Cold, good and evil and most importantly nature and magic. A war has also broken out between The Karin-tun empire and The legion of rebels, alongside this chaos is the appearance of monsters and horrors that nobody could fathom to take in, eventually more races begin to know or even hear rumors of the centuries have been heard of these lands. And your characters? well there in the midst of all of this, they grew up here, they were raised by those who were or might have been the ancestors to these mysterious plains
You haven't really proposed a campaign - a related series of potential story arcs and themes that you's want to explore - but as an "elevator pitch" for a campaign setting - I'd say it has promise.
At the end of the day, if the setting you have and the stories you explore are fun for you and your players, it's a win.
