I'm trying to make a Steampunk campaign and are using characters from Pop Culture (i.e. TV, Comics, Movies, etc.). I've already gotten characters like Jimmy Neutron, Tony Stark, and even the Ghostbusters. But now I'm stumped and can't think of anything. I thought maybe some of the DMs out there could give me a few ideas, maybe even something other than characters like adventures or something. I'd deeply appreciate it. Who knows this may even be of some use to people with writer's block.
If you’re just looking for stuff to rip off, I can’t recommend Samurai Jack highly enough. I’ve been scouring sci-fi lately for an upcoming campaign and if you need a one-shot, it’s an idea factory. To give him due credit, everything Tartakovsky ever did is worth looking at. Great storyteller.
I was actually adding stuff from my childhood; you know nostalgia. I've only glimpses of Samurai Jack (even watched an episode or two when I was little), but other than that I never really "watched" it. I'll see what I can pull from it. Thanks
There's a pretty spectacular steam-powered giant spider machine in the movie Wild Wild West. Also a cool train. Everybody loves a train robbery. You could start off with a train journey where the party gets a little time to explore and find some of the various little traps and tricks on board, then they get attacked by robbers and they can use the traps against them.

P.S. What do you mean by ripping off. Confused.
