Been trying to come up with a new adventure idea and i have one. I'm just not sure how to go about getting it off the ground. Basically, someone the characters don't know, made a wish and things changed. all of this would take place in a dream, without the players knowledge. When they wake up, any conversation about what happened would just make others around them look at them in a dazed and confused look.
Thought the players would never meet the person who made the wish, their actions in with the adventure would actually reverse the wish spell.
Maybe lean into the part where the party wasn't affected by the alteration of reality. A Wish alters ALL reality for everyone. The idea that your party wasn't affected might point to them being the anomaly and might be the cause for them to go find out why. It might also be important to determine what the purpose of the Wish was: good, bad, greedy...whatever, and then determine the one thing that changed in mundane life that causes people to look at the party like they started speaking Jawa in the checkout line at Wal-Mart.
See if this list helps you sort through things.
What was the effect?
What was the goal, purpose or intent of causing the effect?
Why wasn't the party affected?
What happens when the "MiB" learn that the party wasn't affected?
Did the effect make life "better" or "worse" for everyone?
How does the party discover precisely what happened?
How does the party reverse it?
Basically, this is a mystery movie. A who-done-it meets a partial network outage in the matrix. Somebody wasn't connected when the new patch went live and now the Agents are looking for them to fix the glitch.

Thank you. That's a good template to work from.
