I was just wondering what kind of rules/damage etc people would have for a set of hand held vega/wolverine style claws? I would go fir monk and rogue class but what other abilities would you think? Advantage on climbing maybe?
i remember seeing something like this back in the AD&D Complete Ninja's Handbook which would likely have been climbing claws with dagger stats. but, honestly, the real answer is just rename a common dagger or shortsword in DnDB because really it's just another flavor of that. i sincerely can't recommend going down the rabbit hole of homebrewed ninja, gladiator, etc weapons or homebrewed katar punch-type swords.

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

Path of the Beast barbarian in Tasha's offers something very like wolverine claws.
I would guess 1d4 or 1d6 damage and grant advantage on either climbing or disarming opponents.
I would probably call it a d4 weapon that (a) qualifies as a monk weapon, and (b) counts as a unarmed strike.
