Is there a campaign book, or recommended collection of one shots, that I could run for a group that would be 20 weeks long, and each week is a different mini adventure set at one level higher than the previous week? Essentially I would like to run a full campaign where my players get to experience the full gamut of levels within a character, leveling up in between sessions EVERY WEEK.
This is both for them, to see what an entire class looks like from 1-20 in a shorter time frame than your typical three year full campaign style, and for me, to get experience running a game at different levels of difficulty? I could just have them create a Level 15 character and play a one shot for a group of Level 15s, but that doesn't have the same connection to the character that earning it (though quicker than usual) would have, and the learning curve is steep (soooo many skills to learn all at once!).
I can easily hobble together 20 different one shots, but I was wondering if that already existed, and if there was one that had at least a loose connection and broader overall story line already created. Thoughts? Thanks!
Unfortunately, there's almost nothing official that runs all the way to Level 20, but Candlekeep Mysteries is very close to what you're asking for. It's one oneshot per level up through Level 16, so if you can homebrew the last four, you're set.
(The oneshots are only very loosely connected, but with a functional enough framing device to explain why the same characters would be doing all of them.)
I suspect a lot of the oneshots will take more than one session to finish, though. In practice you can probably skip levels, playstyle changes most notably when a new level of spells comes online, which only happens at odd number levels.
