Hello! As the title says im new at DMing and only recently started a party with my friends, we just finished our 2nd real session in "the lost mines of Phandelvor" and they cleared out the redbrand hideout inside the mansion cellar pretty well. My friends seem to really have taken to playing dnd, I am trying to keep it as casual as can be so far as I think too hardcore would scare them away. Anyway, ranting aside I was watching some guides now and it was suggested that I look at whats after this campaign and was wondering if there are any clear official adventures that continue this story elsewhere? I understand that its basically up to me and you can probably link most campaign together but this option feels abit scary when im this new to DMing.
There are plans to publish an official hardcover phandelver book, I think in September. I believe it will start with LMoP and then add new material to go up to level 12. If you can’t wait that long, some people have luck transitioning into Storm King’s Thunder, which you can start at level 5.
Hm I think at the pace were going that will be a bit late, might have to check out King's Thunder, thx alot!
You could also play phandelver to the end, make new characters for SKT, or some other adventure, then come back to the old characters for the rest of phandelver. Just to throw out an idea.
Especially if you’re all really getting into D&D, it can give people a chance to try a different character.
