Hello, I am an aspiring DM. I’ve been playing D&D for the last year in a campaign, and my DM has challenge me to run a one shot. I was wondering if anyone had any pointers on a good one shot to run as a newbie DM?. I’ve debated running a homebrew version ( I really wanted to tell a Jurassic park story) but for my first time DMing and still being relatively new to the game, it feels a little scary to do that. I don’t wanna get overwhelmed and then hate it and never wanna DM again.
Any suggestions? ( I have the 2024 DM & players handbook. I also have the 2014)
Find a published one shot. There's a handful of free ones on dmsguild.com
Wild Sheep Chase and Bard Outta Hell to name a couple.
There should also be some free ones on DND beyond if I'm not mistaken? Prisoner 13 and the new Scions of Elemental Evil? You could try searching the site

Pad of graph paper, and 5 room dungeon format should work fine ore you could look at some one page dungeons.
