Salutations all, I’ve been working on a campaign (2014 5e) based on all kinds of music (mostly rock) and I’ve been trying to collect all kinds of music based spells/ magic items and I thought I’d make a post to see if I’ve missed anything. All help is appreciated. Have a wonderful day.
Spell List: Dancing Lights, Guidance, Thaumaturgy, Vicious Mockery, Word of Radiance, Command, Dissonant Whispers, Earth Tremor, Healing Word, Sleep, Thunderwave, Thunderclap, Blindness/Deafness, Calm Emotions, Enthrall, Magic Mouth, Prayer of Healing, Silence, Mass Healing Word, Motivational Speech, Mislead, Power Word: Kill, Power Word: Heal, Psychic Scream
Item List: Instrument of Illusions, Instrument of Scribing, Orb of Gonging, Earworm, Ring of The Orator, Eagle Whistle, Horn of Valhalla, Instrument of the Bards, Lyre of Building, Dancing Sword
Edit: Sorry I didn't realize that I didn't include the lists.
Pretty much any spell can be "music based" via flavor. Any character concept built around Metallica is going to want lightning bolt, for instance

Active characters:
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
Don't let the rules limit you or your player's creativity. Imaging what you want to be in your campaign then figure out how to use the rules to represent that thing.

This is so true. My number one rule while DMing is usually to let the players roam where the wish in flavor/character creation, but I overlooked that while making this. Thank you very much.

This is wonderful insight. I've spent too much time thinking of the literal concepts of spells rather than flavoring. Thank you kindly.
