So if you have a 2024 party using all 2024 PHB rules and many of your fights are against 2024 monsters.
But then you have an older monster like Acererak which has plenty of phb spells.
Do you use the 2014 spells for Counterspell etc or do you use the 2024 version that the players are using?
I feel its more natural to upgrade them, even though dndbeyond links the old 2014 version.

I update unless it significantly changes the encounter. (eg: new conjure minor elementals verses the old version)
