I’m struggling with the choice the players have to choose a part of the keep to defend. Can each player by himself decide? Does wave 1 always starts at the Balders gate part of the keep?
While I'm not entirely sure about your specific scenario, here's my personal advice:
I would say either have the players get toghether and have to vote on what part of the keep to defend, or they could split into groups and defend a few parts of the keep. I'm not sure where wave one starts, but the gate seems like a logical place.

Your help is much appreciated.
