I currently DM two separate groups: a very seasoned trio and a group of five, very new to TTRPGs.
For my birthday this October, I'd like to run a one-shot of them all coming together in action. By then, I can see the large group being 5th level and the smaller group is 7th. We play in Faerun, and I'd like to end this all-play game with all leveling up to 6th and 8th levels, respectively.
I'm looking for a solid one-shot, either WotC or 3rd party, and we are straddling 2014 and 2024 5e rules.
If it's a one-shot truly, then I'd all-but remove combat from your mind. My main game I run with 8 people, and we need an entire session (3, sometimes 4 hours) just dedicated to combat. Sometimes there's room for a little bit more, but generally it's a combat and then RP/exploration the next session.
It's not impossible, and obviously it's table dependent, but I'd be careful about adding combat, especially multiple encounters.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?

You could try Saving the Children's Menu.
