Hello all, I am looking to possibly run a campaign in spare time outside of two campaigns I am currently in. I wanted to know what everyone's first campaign they had ran as a DM, and what they recommend I start with.
I have Tyranny of dragons and Spelljammer settings. I have also Candlekeep Mysteries, Keys to the Golden Vault, Journeys through the Radiant Citadel, and Strixhaven. I am leaning towards Strixhaven to cater to the two group of players I have interested in it. So what would everyone's call be for a new beginning Dungeon Master that is attempting his hand at being a worthy DM? Thoughts opinions?
I had a great time doing a spelljammer adventure that started off with the Spelljammer Academy mini-adventure in the front of the Spelljammer book. If you don't feel like doing the whole adventure, that first bit is at least a good jumping off point before you transition into your own custome adventure in fantasy space.

Honestly, while not everyone's cup of tea for sure, the new Crooked Moon campaign has a unique feature that might be helpful for all DMs, but especially new ones. It provides a special, customizable, character arc for each player, with points all during the adventure that specifically call out where the next plot point for that character should happen. AND if then ensures ALL of the character arcs see conclusion by the end of the campaign (assuming you stop at 14 and not do the extra content). It also weaves in magic items for everyone too that are unique for them.
Even if you don't run that adventure, taking a look at how they work those arcs in could be enlightening. But Strixhaven is good, if you can keep track of all the side NPCs and their relationships with the PCs. Icespire peak, Phandelver (either version) are also viable.

The group took a vote on Strixhaven so they all get to be college nerds. Lol I'm hyped. Already began reading the module tonight.
