I am excitedly about to embark on DMing Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frost Maiden. I've done thorough initial preparation, including supplemental ideas from Eventyr Games and others. As the campaign is about to start, I just picked up "Adventures in Faerun" and have read the Icewind Dale chapter, hoping to get some additional ideas for my upcoming campaign. However, since it's written 10 years after the events of Rime of the Frostmaiden and is replete with things like steam vents from the Underdark, it mostly seems not applicable to a Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign. (I also just finished DMing an Out of the Abyss campaign and so am not in the mood to do more Underdark stuff). I like the new polar serpeant monster and perhaps the random encounter with some Zhentarum toughs in a town could be good, but does anyone have any other ideas of how (and what) to bring from the "Adventures in Faerun" chapter into "Rime of the Frostmaiden"?
