I'm running a campaign set in Eberron soon for some of my college buddies. The general pitch is that it's an episodic-ish campaign heavily inspired by 80s red scare pulp, like Crystal Skull or Flash Gordon. More specifically, the main antagonist of the adventure is the nation of Riedra, which I'm running as an evil empire heavily inspired by the Soviet Union and Phyrexia from MTG. Riedra wishes to conquer Khorvaire to spread the influence of the Quori across the world. However, they wish to avoid a full-scale war. Thus, they plan on releasing the overlords across Khorvaire, then sweeping in as saviors to seize power. Even as they break seals across the realm, Riedran agents kidnap, "compleat," and replace government officials of the five nations.
Because I'm an overloaded college student, I want to minimize the amount of content I have to build from scratch. The current plan is to begin the campaign running the "Sunless Citadel" from TftYP, flavored as a druid kidnapping Sharran citizens to sacrifice and keep the Overlords imprisoned. As the characters arrive in the grove, a Riedran agent kills the druid, burns the Gulthias tree, and disappears through a portal, ordering his minions to kill the characters. This agent will become a recurring antagonist, fighting the characters through a variety of environments.
I know I also want to run a prison break as the players rush through a Riedran airship biolab to free political prisoners before they're "compleated" and turned. Additionally, I plan on running White Plume Mountain as an Indiana Jones style race against Riedran agents also searching for the weapons, perhaps as tools for a ritual to summon the Overlords.
Otherwise, I'm looking for adventures and dungeons that would be easy to steal and throw into the campaign, ideally with minimal prep work. Any recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!
