I'm just starting the Dragon Heist campaign and had originally thought to run DotMM immediately following the completion of DH but it seems like some are recommending mashing them together. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Does running them consecutively work? Is it better to mash them together? If so, what's the best method to approach it?
The party just finished the initial meeting with Volo in the Yawning Portal. The adventure is the autumn version.
I don't know if mashing them together is that great of an idea. Maybe it would work, but likely you would have to scale Dungeon down or Dragon Heist up. I have read through both of them and they're ment to be played sequentially, so I would recommend doing it as it was intended. If you are committed to the idea, I would say that the best plan of action would be to level down the first couple of dungeon levels and have it be a sort of side quest to the Heist, and once the heist is completed you can play through the rest of the Dungeon normally.
