I am a new DM currently doing Lost Mine Of Phandelver, and i am preparing the second session right now. I was just curious what the normal price is for hiring a room (Stonehill Inn specifically. I have the rulebook and its probably in there but i lost it somewhere and i just want to move on right now) , and just general tips for new DM's are always welcome!

Figuring out the rules and way of playing trough my mistakes :)
The short version is that the cost of staying in an inn depends on the quality of the inn. The adventure doesn't specify a quality level for that inn, so you can decide for yourself how good you want it to be, or have the inn offer multiple rooms at varying levels of quality.
To be honest I can rarely be bothered with tracking the cost of accomodation so I just hand waved the Stonehill Inn as "Gundren has paid for a week's accomodation for you" and left it at that

That could work, but i want my party to pay for themselves. Gundren just expects them to have their own money or just some of the GP they got from delivering the cart

That's fair enough. To be honest one reason I've started ignoring inn costs is just because at a certain point in an adventure it feels like it doesn't matter. Level 2 adventurers arriving in Phandalin are counting every penny so I can understand wanting to charge them but quite often by level 5 it's a case of "that'll be 3sp please" and the adventure pulls out a bag of holding with 5,000 gp in and asks if you have change

Yeah that makes sense but in part 2 they don't have that much money and my players might make other choices on how much something costs! (Mainly because this will be their first time having time to shop for all players exept 1)

The book says to refer to the "Food, Drink, and Lodging" section of the Basic Rules for prices for the Stonehill Inn. You can find that here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/equipment#FoodDrinkandLodging

Yes, Modest is one of the quality levels. You can see the prices for it at the link I provided above.
