Hi there, I have been developing a combat-tracker that specializes in keyboard use. The latest idea I had was to add a MacOS like global search-bar to it where you can enter commands to for example, heal or damage a character, add a condition with timer, toggle concentration, look up spell descriptions or glossary terms etc. all with fuzzy search and quick selects where possible. It is completely free to use and offers more features as well.
Any DMs who like these sorts of apps are welcome to try it out, there is a Demo mode where you can test without creating or account.
I haven't used Avrae but from what I can tell from looking at the website it has a discord chat only aproach? I think a better comparison would be something like Shielmaiden. Compared to that I think my app is easier to get into but I guess I am but biased in that respect 😉
My app is much more aimed at DMs to manage a complex combat encounter by keeping track of all NPC health, conditions, concentration, stats in general, attack roll resulting, etc.
There is a web-view for the participating players that the DM can share, but it is primarily aimed at the DM.
There also is a quick lookup of the SRD monster stats, spells, glossary terms without leaving the main page which I think will help DMs quickly lookup info all without leaving the page or even using a mouse at all.
I think I will crate a screen recording and do a walkthrough if the apps features. Better to show than tell 😅
This is pretty interesting, I love the diverse features.
Although, seems to me there are so many of these things flying around online. I've seen people post their Excel Spreadsheet combat tracker. You probably have a lot of competition.

How would you compare its utility and features to say Avrae?
