Ok so for my campaign I am using the World of Greyhawk fantasy setting from Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (D&D second edition) and in the infos they tell the levels and class of the different rulers. The one I want to introduce if the ruler of Celene, the elven kingdom. First of all, I think it would be cool if she was an eladrin, scince her actual title is "Her Fey Majesty". The book says she is a Fighter level 7 / Magic user (mage nowadays) level 11.
Now my options are:
1: Do exaclty that, make her a level 7 fighter (eldritch knight? I'm not sure what other kind of fighter fits) and level 11 mage (lets say enchanter for fun).
2: Since the original goal is to make her a caster that can fight, why not make her an level 18 mage Bladesinger (from SCAG)? Or even a level 18 fighter Eldritch knight? Both are able do cast spells and fight.
3: Simply use the stat block for eladrins in Mordenkanen's tome of foes, it makes her still powerfull enough but depending on the season she wont cast many spells.
First, she's approximately 2/5 fighter and 3/5 wizard (magic-user). Second, she has access to 6th-level spells but not to 7th-level spells.
I would suggest making her a fighter 7 (Eldritch Knight)/wizard 11 (Bladesinger), but Extra Attack from multiple sources doesn't stack, so either her 5th-level fighter feature or her 6th-level Bladesinger feature would be wasted.
She's a ruler. The most appropriate fighter subclass is therefore Bannaret, which grants support abilities and Persuasion expertise. Make her a fighter 7 (Bannaret)/wizard 11 (something other than Bladesinger). Enchanter, maybe, or Illusionist.
