I'm introducing a system into my campaign for achievements like on Xbox Live for my players. I'm doing an in-universe adventurer's guild to justify it, with prizes for getting certain achievements, and they're really into it, but I wanna come up with more of them. So far I've got twenty, ten combat and ten non-combat, some of which are pretty setting-specific, and I'd be open to suggestions for more.
The achievements I currently have that aren't setting specific are:
Battlefield Blur: Move 100 feet in a single round of combat.
Beast Tamer: Gain the loyalty of a beast without the use of magic.
Damage Survivor: Receive each damage type at least once: Acid, Bludgeoning, Cold, Fire, Force, Lightning, Necrosis, Piercing, Poison, Psychic, Radiant, Slashing, Thunder
Distant Dozen: Defeat 12 enemies with ranged attacks.
Economic Powerhouse: Spend 10,000 gold.
Entry Man: Find a way through 5 locked doors for which you lack the keys.
Focus Breaker: Disrupt 5 concentration spells.
Magic Rich: Have more attunement magic items in your inventory than you can attune to at once.
Merciful: Non-lethally KO 25 creatures.
Mighty Warrior: Land the finishing blow on 100 creatures in combat. (Non-Lethal counts)
Pain From Above: Attack an enemy from the high ground 20 times.
Patch Master: Deal an accumulative 1000 points of healing during combat.
Too Stubborn to Die: Stabilize while making death saving throws 5 times.
Socializer: Speak with members of 20 different races.
Well-Spoken: Learn 5 languages.
I'd like to try and keep to things that every player character can achieve, which is why there aren't any related to spellcasting currently. I know something like Patch Master is gonna be a much taller order for a rogue than a cleric, but with potions and stuff it is feasibly doable. And I think this system is a fun way to get folks to start thinking about switching up their tactics and trying new things with their characters. So what's some more stuff I can offer up for my players to try?
I definitely love the idea, to improve it maybe add class specific challenges, such as maybe rouge- steal 20( total) items from enemy's without them noticing. Also maybe reward them like games do, so if you get a backstab achievement or maybe a heal 100 hp at once or something, you give the layer a permanent boost of like 10 extra hp from heals or maybe a magic item. Hope this helps and makes sense.
i included a rarity system for mine red is teh rearest, with purple being second rarest
are you sure your're not a ranger?. kill 25 creatures of the same creature type
I didn't ask how big the room was!. damage an ally with fireball
MOST ANNOYING PLAYER!. can only be awarded to 1 person. award at your discresion to the most annoying player after they do something crazy
Impossible!. Rouge, get sneak attack damage without being hidden. Paladin, kill an enemy with a ranged attack. Wizard, survive 10 hits from a single encounter. Fighter, Kill an enemy with a spell. Barbarian, kill 2 enemenys in a single encounter without raging. Bard, get through an entire encounter without casting vicious mockery. Warlock, get through an entire encounter without casting eldritch blast. (you can change the stuff and please add one for every class)
